Read with caution:
* Original female character
* Timeline: Season 9
* This will probably be a spectacularly out-of-character work
* Male lead: Huang Shaotian (my take on a male, sword-wielding beauty; I'll emphasize his cool side)
* An overwhelming amount of romance, pure romance, no matches
About the heroine:
* She has all the flaws of a vain, money-loving woman: she lies, she's selfish, and so on. She's not a strong female lead or a girl everyone loves.
* She's not Korean; she's a Chinese girl.
* She used to be a pro player, but has retired by the start of the story.
Cui Enbin had an unforgettable pretty face and an inner world as barren as a desert.
Her dream was to become a mega-influencer with tens of millions of followers. She didn't want to provide emotional support to anyone or be anyone else's tag. She just wanted to show off her comfortable life and attract an endless stream of money and admiration. If there was such a thing as true love in the world, she hoped it would be the Heart of the Ocean.
Fate was against her. She was poor and had no family to support her, but that was fine. She still had a clever mind.
She planned everything out well to achieve her dream: return from Korea to China, pretend to be a rich heiress, get into a decent university, play popular games to make her online persona feel more real, then try her luck in the pro scene without needing to make a name for herself. Mainly, she wanted to live by the mottos "Life is a wilderness" and "The brave get to enjoy the world first."
Everything had gone smoothly so far, until early in Season 8, when she faced Huang Shaotian in a solo match. He saw through every move she made. He showed her no mercy, yet still said, "You played well, but I'm even better."
And so all her careful plans began to fall apart. She made mistake after mistake on the field. The pro scene wasn't for her, and she retired early. She focused on building her account, but just as it started to take off, her MCN agency collapsed in a scandal. She had no choice but to return to streaming Glory and rely on her old skills.
Get a job? No way.
"Ms. Cui, I'm an HR representative from the Blue Rain Club. Would you be interested in a position in our online gaming division?"
Ms. Cui, who didn't even know how she'd make next month's credit card payment: Work for Blue Rain... Maybe I can ride their popularity?
Huang Shaotian had just learned a new term: buoyant types.
He thought Cui Enbin was exactly like that, light as a cloud. It seemed no one could leave a trace on her heart, not even the person she loved.
"Shaotian, I'm heading out for a bit."
Cui Enbin walked past him, and Huang Shaotian caught her hand.
"Now? It's our day off. Who are you going out with, BB?"
"Yina. Did you forget again?" she said with a bright smile, looking not the least bit annoyed.
"Oh, right. I forgot." He was lying. He hadn't forgotten; he just wanted to make sure she wasn't lying. "By the way, BB, did you forget something too?"
She thought for a moment, then gave a knowing look and kissed Huang Shaotian on the cheek. "I love you most, hubby."
Huang Shaotian smiled with satisfaction, putting the so-called buoyant types he'd just read about out of his mind.
What was that? His wife loved him most.
Rules for dating Huang Shaotian:
1. There must be a good-morning kiss.
2. There must be a goodbye kiss every time you leave.
3. Before hanging up, say, "I love hubby the most!"
4. I'll add more when I think of them. BB, you know I love you most.
