My name is Fuyue, and I'm a veteran fan of the fandom merch scene.
In middle school, a new friend I met after changing classes introduced me to the fandom merch scene. Back then, I was still studying locally, and with school close to home, I could barely save any pocket money. So I missed out on a lot of merch from my favorite characters. My friends and I racked our brains for ways to make money, and eventually we turned our attention to social media.
Once we started earning money, the first thing we did was go on Xianyu and place direct orders for our dream merch. During that time, I'd wake up smiling from my dreams. Since we were making money, my friends and I always organized group orders ourselves. We were considerate and gave people reminders to pay their remaining balances, so we gradually built a good reputation.
Just as my business was taking off, my parents told me that the whole family was moving to Japan for work.
Even after moving to Japan, I didn't give up my business. I also started doing proxy shopping. At such a young age, I'd already saved a lot of money. Then everything changed one day in high school. The moment I realized I'd been petrified, my first thought was that I still hadn't collected the remaining payments for the group order.
Unable to accept what had happened, I clung to my fading consciousness through the long years.
Then one day, my little fan's older brother, Tsukasa Shishiou, broke my petrification.
“Fuyue. Hmm.”
I stared in shock at how different he looked from the photos his sister had sent me in middle school. Back then, he hadn't been nearly so tall and imposing.
Everyone around him treated me with inexplicable respect, and it made me uncomfortable. So I snuck away, only to run into my high school classmates, Taiju and Yuzuriha.
They told me my deskmate, Senku, was dead.
Me: “...”
After a whole series of events had unfolded, Senku suddenly called me out alone one night. He looked at me for a long moment, then turned away, touching his neck as he said, “Fuyue, my desire to explore the moon is the same as my desire to explore you.”
A few days later, Ryusui came looking for me. He snapped his fingers and said, “Ha-ha! Fuyue, the world will eventually be mine again, and you are the new world I've discovered!”
A few days after that, more and more people came to say things that sounded like we might never see each other again. At least, that's how I took it. I didn't understand. We were just taking a homemade spaceship to the moon. Why did everyone act like we were parting forever?
Besides, I wasn't going this time.
