After I Died, the Heartless Emperor Went Mad

"Take it off."

Before the assembled court and his new favorite, the newly enthroned Emperor Xiao Ce sat high upon the dragon throne, looking at Shen Yubai with undisguised contempt.

"You were willing to get into a Northern Di bed. Why pretend to be so chaste in front of me?"

Shen Yubai did not struggle. He numbly unfastened his clothes, revealing burn marks and knife wounds covering his body.

The great hall fell so silent that every breath could be heard. Xiao Ce's face turned deathly pale.

Only then did he learn that the scar running across Shen Yubai's lower abdomen had been left when enemy soldiers cut him open alive. Shen Yubai had taken the wound to hold off the Northern Di commander and buy Xiao Ce time to lead his troops to safety.

The traitorous minister he had trampled underfoot and tormented in every way had less than a winter left to live.

"Xiao Ce, you disgust me."

Later, after Shen Yubai died, the lofty emperor finally went completely mad.
