The Bunny I Picked Up Is a Great Demon

Niantang is a cat demon. When she learns that her sect is planning to purge the demon cultivators, she flees in the middle of the night.

On the run, she finds an injured, frail rabbit demon. After she heals him, he promises to serve her as a servant in gratitude.

The two settle down in a small village at the foot of a mountain. Their life is poor but peaceful.

Then one day, while on the mountain, Niantang secretly sees the frail rabbit demon seize a powerful cultivator sent to hunt down a demon by the neck with one hand. A moment later, the man's head is separated from his body.

He was never a rabbit demon at all. He's the Demon God, the future demon who will destroy the world.

Terrified, Niantang runs, but in her haste she tumbles down the mountain and can't even get back to her feet.

All she can do is watch as the demon approaches, one step at a time.

When Jiang Zhuye is gravely injured, he meets a cat demon who mistakes him for a frail rabbit. To get her to save him, he goes along with it and pretends to agree to become her servant.

The cat demon really is easy to fool. She believes him, and keeps getting taken in by the scoundrel pretending to be an ordinary man.

But that's none of his concern. He'll leave once he's healed.

The day he's about to leave, some cultivators come to the village to exterminate demons, chasing the cat demon all the way up the mountain.

He doesn't stop walking. His injuries are healed, and he can't be bothered to meddle in other people's business.

Not long afterward, on the mountain,

Jiang Zhuye crushes the intruders' heads and flicks the blood from his hand in disgust.

He catches sight of the little figure who had secretly witnessed the scene, then lost her footing and tumbled down the mountain in terror. He goes home, changes out of his bloodstained clothes, and comes to her perfectly clean.

Seeing her huddled in the snow with an injured foot, he sighs softly and lifts her onto his back.

"There are lots of loose stones hidden under the snow, so walk slowly."

"The mountain path is even harder to walk after dark. Come home earlier next time."
