If the Snow Mountain Could Hear

"Youth has no price tag. A hard-seat ticket takes you straight to Lhasa."

After countless failed job applications, Zhao Yanxi was at a loss when she happened to come across the slogan.

Looking at all the comments saying, "Live freely for me," she gritted her teeth, took the few savings she had, got into the little car she'd bought for tens of thousands of yuan, and set off.

She would leave Chengdu, take Highway 318 to Lhasa, and make her final destination Mount Kailash, the "center of the world."

Zhao Yanxi followed the travel guide, bought everything she needed, and planned a detailed route. She thought she'd prepared well, but she never expected one mishap after another.

And somehow, every time, she ran into a man named Lin Xingchuan.

What a cursed connection! A truly cursed connection!

2.

After Zhao Yanxi's "beloved car" broke down yet again, Lin Xingchuan swiftly changed the tire and casually asked, "Your first time on Highway 318?"

Zhao Yanxi nodded.

Lin Xingchuan looked surprised. "A young woman traveling this route alone? You've got guts."

Zhao Yanxi was unusually sensitive, and immediately felt he was questioning her. She shot back coldly, "Why can't I?"

Lin Xingchuan acted as if he hadn't noticed her attitude. He packed away his tools, then suddenly suggested, "Why don't we travel together?"

"There are so many unexpected problems on the road: altitude sickness, flat tires, breakdowns. And it's your first time here. Besides, traveling in a group means we can split the cost of food and lodging..."

"We're going the same way, anyway. When you're away from home, it's only right to look out for each other."

Whether her mind was sluggish from the lack of oxygen or Lin Xingchuan's reasons were simply too convincing, Zhao Yanxi agreed almost as if in a trance.
