In 2126, a full-immersion battle game called Spirit War takes the world by storm. Its arenas are packed for every league match, and whoever wins the championship can make a name for themselves worldwide.

Lu Chengyuan is a well-known rich kid in the gaming world. His family is powerful and rules over a vast domain, yet he remains active on the Spirit War circuit.

He's carefree by nature, with top-tier skills and tactics. Before long, he's won three championships.

Spirit War uses a character-building system. Once a battle card has been trained to the highest level, it can sign a contract with a player and fight alongside them.

The rapport between a "Spirit Partner" and their player determines how a match will unfold.

Lu Chengyuan is the best summoner for every card. There's not a single Spirit Partner who doesn't obey him, except for the new card, "Yan."

The first time Lu Chengyuan summons Yan in a tournament, he nearly loses because Yan refuses to fight.

After pleading with Yan again and again, Lu Chengyuan finally gets him to understand the instruction, "Go beat them up and you'll get a reward." But the next second, Yan says something that leaves him stunned.

"I need some BGM," Yan says.

Lu Chengyuan has no time to think. He quickly opens a music player and asks Yan what he wants to hear.

"DJ," Yan says. "It needs lots of Vietnamese drums."

Working together, Lu Chengyuan and Yan win the league championship again, becoming undisputed four-time champions.

At the victory banquet, Lu Chengyuan gets drunk. All he can think about is Yan's lean waist and V-line as he beats people up in the arena.

With DJ drums thundering through the venue, every punch is so thrilling it makes the crowd's scalps tingle.

Damn, that's exciting.

As Lu Chengyuan keeps thinking about it, Yan suddenly appears before him.

He rubs his eyes, thinking he's seeing things.

The next second, Yan frowns at the drunk man and complains, "Don't summon me when there's no match. I haven't finished filming my video."

Lu Chengyuan rushes over and wraps his arms around Yan, burying his face in the crook of Yan's neck.

"Wifey."

Zhou Jingyan turns bright red and slaps Lu Chengyuan. "What are you calling me?!"

Instead of dodging, Lu Chengyuan catches Zhou Jingyan's slender fingers. His face is flushed and his eyes shine as he gazes at him like a puppy.
