Shi Like leads her team of independent hunters to illegally hunt mutated creatures in a high-radiation zone. They have bad luck and run into an official inspection team.

The officials have the numbers, so as team leader, she of course nobly tells her teammates to go on ahead while she stays behind to deal with them.

Two days later, her teammates arrive at the agreed meeting point to pick her up. They discover that their boss has escaped completely unharmed and has even brought along an unconscious man.

"The inspection team's commander," Shi Like says, introducing the handsome unconscious man in her arms without batting an eye. "With him, we'll never have to sneak into the high-risk zone again."

He Ranqi thinks that all the bad luck in his life has something to do with Shi Like.

Two years ago, Shi Like was an elite squad leader whom he personally selected and trained from among the lowest-ranking cleanup crews.

But less than two months after officially entering service, Shi Like dropped her ID badge without a word and ran off.

Today, two years later, he finally goes out on an inspection-team mission to catch illegal independent hunters, only to find that their leader is his very own student.

Excellent. He'll settle both old and new scores with his student...

Then a massive outbreak of mutated creatures storms into the lower district. He is one of the few commanders organizing an evacuation, but in the chaos, his student knocks him unconscious and takes him away.

"So, my dear commander, my dear teacher," Shi Like says with a smile, tugging at He Ranqi's impeccably neat tie, "do you really still want to work with that pack of wolves in sheep's clothing?"

Bound up and facing a group of hostile independent hunters, He Ranqi can't exactly refuse.

Of course, he has no idea that one day in the future, after she lets him go, he will personally place the rope around his neck in his student's palm and beg her to tie him up tight and never let him go again.

Notes:

1. Happy ending. Male lead is sexually pure. One-on-one romance. Other characters may show a slight interest in the female lead.

2. Both leads have strong moral principles, in public and in private. Neither is obsessive, and they won't torment each other.

3. Gender bender, but neither lead has any extra body parts.
