To help the childhood friend he has secretly loved for five years become a top-tier star as quickly as possible, Yan Shi'an, already a top-tier star himself, binds himself to the Top-Tier Star Value System.
The System agrees to let him give his childhood friend half of the top-tier star points he earns, on the condition that he stays in the top five for three months.
Yan Shi'an readily agrees.
Everything goes smoothly until Yan Shi'an decides the time is right to confess to his childhood friend. Then an unknown newcomer catches up to him in no time.
Before Yan Shi'an can make a move, the dark horse newcomer comes right to him.
Gu Zhuo (eyes sparkling): Senior, I really admire you. I want to work with you~
As someone who could give him a real run for his money, Gu Zhuo naturally gets a stern refusal from Yan Shi'an.
Unfortunately, the company sets him up. The evil machinations of capital bring them together for a joint endorsement and a variety show, and Gu Zhuo sticks to him like chewing gum.
"Senior, let me help you out of the car."
"Senior, look at me."
"Senior, do you think I'm handsome?"
Yan Shi'an: = =
But he has to admit that Gu Zhuo's looks are right up his alley, especially when those puppy-dog eyes are fixed on him.
*
Thanks to Gu Zhuo's efforts, they soon get a CP fanbase.
The solo fans on both sides used to argue nonstop, but then Gu Zhuo, one of the stars himself, suddenly appears in their CP fan group and likes a post shipping them.
The whole internet is stunned.
Aren't you rivals competing for the Best Actor award?
Why are you selling your pairing now?!
Yan Shi'an wants to end the CP pairing with Gu Zhuo because of Meng Yifan, but the System says, "This can earn you top-tier star points too, so just play along!"
That makes sense, so Yan Shi'an holds back.
He holds back for a moment, and the Best Actor award gets stolen from him, Gu Zhuo surpasses him in top-tier star points, and two months of effort go to waste.
The System has another bright idea. "Don't you still have that terrible drama with two male leads? Why not film it with him and lower your top-tier star points a little?"
Yan Shi'an takes the System's terrible advice once again.
The result is exactly what Gu Zhuo wanted: he's been stuck with a dog.
Gu Zhuo is thrilled to cooperate every day on set, buzzing around Yan Shi'an like a mosquito:
"Senior, we need to get a little closer here."
"Senior, why aren't you looking at me?"
"Senior, this part isn't in the script, but I want to act it this way..."
There's no other way. Yan Shi'an can only use his ultimate move: "I like Meng Yifan."
"Oh." Gu Zhuo doesn't care at all. "You won't like him for much longer, Senior."
Tips:
* Both are each other's first. The bottom secretly loves his childhood friend, the top secretly loves the bottom, and the childhood friend is trash and exits the story quickly. The story is mainly about the top flirting with the bottom and reeling him in.
* A younger, jealous, competitive, possessive, green-tea, love-struck, straightforward heir top x a cold-on-the-outside, warm-on-the-inside, nonchalant, unwittingly popular, flirtatious top-tier star bottom
