For his initiation trial, He Ming, a disciple of the Hehuan Sect, chose a seemingly absentminded little sword cultivator. She didn't understand romance, but she always gave him whatever he asked for.
Just when he thought they were deeply in love, she suddenly asked to break up with an utterly indifferent expression.
"Why?" he demanded in anguish.
"I suddenly realized it wasn't interesting anymore." The woman spoke calmly, her expression unchanged.
After being dumped, He Ming was filled with indignation. He asked around about the sword-obsessed woman's background and learned that she was Xie Zhiyuan, the once-in-a-century genius of the Heartless Dao from Tianyi Sect.
Following this lead, he stumbled upon a group of people who hated Xie Zhiyuan. They anonymously circulated flower notes on recording stones, filled with complaints about her.
They said:
"I hate people who show off the most. Last time, she took on all thirteen Frost Sky Formations by herself during a trial. She did that on purpose, right? What a spectacle, all so everyone would notice her."
"She got first place among the sword cultivators at the sect ceremony and now thinks she's somebody. Those people sucking up to her in the audience were practically drooling. So fake! They must all be plants she paid for!"
"Tch, she's not worth a second glance."
"No male cultivator would ever like someone like her." This comment got the most likes.
He Ming spent all day lurking in this group, furiously liking their posts. Fighting down his urge to see her, he kept psyching himself up, gritting his teeth as he swore he couldn't lose face.
But later, he discovered that every last one of these people was an ex-boyfriend of Xie Zhiyuan. They all talked tough to her face, but behind the scenes they seized every chance to get close to her, secretly trying to seduce her into taking them back.
He Ming: ??? These sword bastards.
Not long after, the anonymity spell on the flower notes suddenly failed. The next day, the prodigies from the various sects of the cultivation world were at each other's throats.
The heavens and earth changed color, mountains toppled and winds howled. The sects unleashed one peerless technique after another, each trying to kill the others. Cleaning up the battlefield afterward took half a month.
Later, when the female lead of the incident, Xie Zhiyuan, was interviewed, she leaned lazily against a tree with her sword in her arms and said distractedly, "What does this have to do with me? I went to practice my sword."
* A huge male rivalry novel with plenty of hair-pulling; only a few of the male leads have any manners.
* 1vN. All the male leads are dogified into different breeds. They say nothing to her face, but fight and scramble for her behind the scenes.
* The female lead really doesn't take romance seriously. For her, dating is just a little diversion from cultivation.
