Eight-year-old Kanako meets an eight-year-old fake gentleman, and gets so thoroughly fooled from the moment they meet that she loses all sense of direction. At eleven, the fake gentleman develops an inexplicable possessiveness toward Kanako, and can't stand any male creature coming within five meters of her. At fifteen, Kanako and the fake gentleman develop feelings that are hard to define. The girl promptly takes the coward's way out. The fake gentleman holds his childhood sweetheart close and thinks again of the scene he just witnessed beneath the tree. Damn it, doesn't Kanako know she's mine?
