At eighteen, Yue Xingchuan bought a plane ticket and flew from a place three meters above sea level to Mount Meili, four thousand meters above sea level, ready to take his first high-altitude hike.
He had no idea that spring weather in Tibet could change in an instant. Stranded at a campsite with no village in either direction, all he could do was huddle in his sleeping bag and wait for rescue.
Suddenly, the wind began to howl. Just as he was battling altitude sickness and trying to boil some water, he heard footsteps outside his tent.
The next second, a pretty boy slipped inside.
Snow and wind clung to him as he blew in like a gust and came right up to Yue Xingchuan.
"Are you heading down the mountain or going to the summit?" Sonam asked. "I can take you either way. Could you let me stay here tonight?"
His lamb-like eyes fixed on Yue Xingchuan, whose hand trembled as he was about to pour the water.
...Good thing he'd brought a two-person tent.

Sonam's home was at the foot of the snow-capped mountain.
What he loved most was Mentsimu before the golden sunrise, its peaks deep pink and pale purple, with the moon and stars still hanging at the edge of the sky.
He climbed this unchanging mountain in every season, all to wait for someone.
Perhaps it was because, the first time he went to the plains as a child, he got drunk on oxygen and fainted into another child's arms.
At last, in the spring of his eighteenth year, he saw a familiar yet unfamiliar figure at the foot of the mountain.
The stranger was much taller than him, stopping and starting along the way, and even picking one of his little flowers.
Sonam followed him, finding him amid the snow flying everywhere.
Sonam lowered his eyes, gathering up the light in them. "Could you let me stay here tonight?"
The young man looked at him and nodded gently.
A warm breeze blew across Meili's thirteen pink peaks.
