[The Rationalist Detective x The Cold, Unhinged Nun | A Clash of Equals | A Battle of Faith]
The city-state of Weilan is shrouded in thick fog all year round.
Three bodies, each bearing a divine sigil branded into the palm, have appeared one after another. Every victim was a villain who had escaped justice. There are no traces at the crime scenes, the cause of death is unknown, and only a faint, cold fragrance remains.
Serafina is a top detective, with golden hair, keen eyes, and arrogance to the bone. She believes in neither gods nor ghosts, only evidence and logic.
"Playing at the supernatural." She sneered as she pushed open the door of the dilapidated church.
Before the altar, the nun Nalu slowly rose to her feet. She wore a plain black robe, her face pale and cold, her light-colored eyes empty of all feeling.
She was the church's only resident, and the faith's most devout executioner.
"There are no gods." Serafina tossed down the case file.
"God is cold, and eternal." Nalu raised her eyes, her voice like shattered ice.
One aims to expose every supernatural sham.
The other will sacrifice everything to uphold the faith and protect her god.
When the blade of reason strikes the abyss of faith
Who will break first? Who will fall first?
[The god you speak of is nothing but a tool you use to control and kill.]
[Those who do not believe will eventually be judged by God.]
Theme: Reason and faith can both become blades.
