Blurb:
Handsome, free-spirited top and gentle, devoted homemaker bottom
You wake up to find that the best friend you know better than anyone has become your bedmate, and it seems he is carrying your child. He's feeling anxious and insecure, curled up by the edge of the bed.
That's what happens to Qin Lang.
Looking at his best friend beside him, whose belly is just beginning to show and whose pillowcase is already half-soaked, he sighs and says in a gentleness he never thought he had:
“Come on, don't cry.”
“It's just a prenatal checkup. I'll go with you, all right?”
“...Really?”
Luo Yushu still has tears at the corners of his eyes. He suddenly turns over to look straight at him, barely able to hide his delight.
The next day, Qin Lang waits in the car: Damn, I want a cigarette, but my best friend is pregnant, and it's my baby. I can't smoke.
Sigh, forget it. I'll get out and go find him. What if he gets lost?
“Your husband is so thoughtful.”
The nurse helps Luo Yushu out and says with a smile.
Qin Lang turns his face away, but doesn't deny it.
He's softhearted and has a strong sense of responsibility.
So he keeps accompanying Luo Yushu, all the way to the delivery room, and on to the end of time.
Years later, Qin Lang asks Luo Yushu:
“How did you figure out I was into you?”
Luo Yushu smiles. “That time you took me to my prenatal checkup, I came out of the hospital and saw you just about to come in looking for me.”
“I know you've hated going to hospitals since you were a kid.”
“So that's when I understood, Qin Lang. You can't let me go.”
“All right, you've got me.”
Qin Lang turns over. Someone refuses to stop snuggling into his arms. He kisses the top of his head and settles him comfortably against his chest.
Actually, that's both right and wrong.
It had already happened at their graduation party that year. A boy in a white shirt went onstage and sang “Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies.” When he sang, “Who would fear if one day it were just you and me,” every light and gaze in the room gathered on Luo Yushu.
But Luo Yushu looked at him
With just that one glance, Qin Lang knew he was done for.
“You and I, so deeply in love when we were young.”
