[The Prince of Tennis] Munich Support Group

Dual A | Tennis x Rock | Rational x Blunt |

Saionji Nana, twenty-five, professional drummer.

Her name sounds like she should be a young lady speaking softly in a flower-arranging class.

In reality, she's the soul of a punk band's drumming, with tattoos on her arms, playing like she's tearing down a building and cursing without a second thought.

Tezuka Kunimitsu first met her at a rehabilitation center in Munich.

He was fifteen, with a serious injury to his left shoulder, recording the angles of his pain in the garden every day.

She was fifteen, her right hand in a cast, blasting the whole garden with music from a leaky portable cassette player.

He looked up and saw a face that said “Don't mess with me” and hair dyed a striking sapphire blue.

Ten years later, they reunited in Tokyo.

After her show, he stood backstage and handed her some water.

She: What are you doing here?

He: A sponsor invited me. They said your drumming was worth listening to with the same attention I give to analyzing tennis.

She: ...

She: Tezuka, it's been ten years. Your mouth really hasn't evolved at all.

Later, they decided to “give it a try.”

What she meant by trying: We're adults. If it works, great; if not, we part ways.

What he meant by trying: A long-term, stable relationship requires a clear framework.

They argued, fell apart, and gave each other the silent treatment.

Until one day, a reporter asked him: What new goals do you have beyond tennis?

He paused, then said:

“Learning how to stay focused on a match while... holding on to the hand of the person beside me.”

The internet exploded: Tezuka Kunimitsu??? Did you really just say that???

A story about “I met you when I was fifteen, but it took me fifteen years to figure you out.”

Theme: The highest form of love isn't one person saving another. It's two independently moving galaxies recognizing each other's frequency in the vast universe, then deciding to share the same starry sky.
