The King's Avatar: Is It Really That Easy to Pick Up a Retired Pro?

A romance-focused story, no competitions, grown-up love, and things move really fast~

Liang Xi has done two "outrageous" things in her life:

First, she fell for her stepbrother.

Second, to make him jealous, she accepted someone else's advances.

Then one slap and a single "Fine" brought their relationship to an end.

Four years later, she went to Yunnan alone to clear her head.

By Erhai Lake, she met a man with just as little to do as she did.

He said his name was Zhang Jiale, that he'd retired, and that he'd come out to stare into space.

She said her name was Liang Xi, that she had no plans, and that she'd go wherever the road took her.

"Why don't you find out if there's a championship in your destiny?"

"...Why are you so sharp-tongued?"

Later, they went to Puzhehei, Tengchong, and Ginkgo Village together.

When it comes to grown-up romance, you don't need to spend so much time testing each other.

Q: What do you do when you meet a retired superstar on a trip, he's handsome and nice, and he shamelessly follows you home?

Liang Xi: Keep him. It's not like I have anything better to do.

Q: What do you do when he says he's making a comeback, and his new team is captained by your ex?

Liang Xi: ...Keep it a secret. He might not find out anyway.

Q: What do you do when he finds a photo of you with your ex?

Liang Xi: ...Wait for the end.

Your new love is a teammate of your old love, and you haven't told him about your past together. What do you do? Asking for a friend. It's kind of urgent.

[Reader's Guide]

1. The heroine isn't a good girl or a naive sweetheart. She's got a galaxy more tricks up her sleeve than the hero and the male supporting character (well, maybe not quite).

2. The hero seems like a sunny, cheerful young man, but he's actually hopelessly love-struck and beyond saving.

3. The heroine and the male supporting character are not related by blood and are not on the same household register.

4. The story is mainly about romance, with very few competitions, but Jiale does become champion in the end.

5. There are headcanons, and characters may be out of character. Jiale is a golden retriever of a guy.

6. The later chapters have lots of forum posts, so get your snacks and drinks ready (the author's favorite kind of chapter).

7. It's genuinely sweet, and there is genuine heartbreak too (but the ending is sweet, I promise. The painful parts are all about the ex).
