Exiled to Lingnan! [Gourmet]

With a single imperial decree, Su Shan, who had only just arrived in this world, was demoted straight to the remote wilderness of Lingnan and set off on a long journey south.

A land of miasma, a desolate frontier.

Her former colleagues either sighed in dismay or gloated, all waiting to hear that she had “succumbed to the unfamiliar climate and died in office.”

But what they eventually got was a list of rare tribute goods sent from Lingnan to the capital, so long it seemed to stretch beyond sight, and customs revenue that had multiplied several times over!

With Little Su in charge of Lingnan, she was thriving.

Loquats, bayberries, and lychees arrived in season, more than she could ever eat; horseshoe crabs, oysters, and mullet were so plentiful she could never finish them.

Along the way, she even won the heart of a handsome, wealthy merchant's son.

○ For the sake of the plot, this is an alternate setting where both men and women can hold office, but it is not a matriarchy.

○ The couple is male-female.
