Wen Yu was a staunch Beta supremacist. To him, Beta supremacy meant supporting and affirming the idea that Betas were inherently superior to Omegas and Alphas, who were ruled by desire.
Yet this very Beta supremacist married his childhood Alpha friend, who had just returned from abroad, soon after graduating from university.
Zhou Cuishi was a top Alpha. Articles about him described him as a notorious womanizer, a man of loose morals, exactly the kind of inferior creature Wen Yu despised most.
On the first day of their marriage, Wen Yu stood before his former childhood friend, now his enemy, arms crossed, and held up a finger.

The Alpha looked at him for a long moment, then turned and walked away.
What followed was a three-year marriage of putting on a show in front of their parents, then going back to their separate beds after helping each other take the edge off.
Just as Wen Yu began to think this ill-fated marriage might be bearable, he saw a hospital test report and an entertainment news photo. One glance was all it took.
A wave of revulsion made him tremble all over.
It was exactly as Zhou Cuishi had expected: he married his childhood Beta friend. He had known since they were children that Wen Yu would marry him someday.
As for Wen Yu’s resistance, the Alpha thought absently, Love or no love, they had plenty of time.
Just as he had expected, their married life was not exactly blissful, but at least they treated each other with respect and got along well. Watching the Beta in his arms, looking content and relaxed like a cat showing its belly, Zhou Cuishi found him both adorable and proud. Ever since Zhou Cuishi had presented as an Alpha in high school, he had rarely seen Wen Yu so at ease.

In the bathroom, the Beta vomited violently, his disgust completely undisguised. “Stay away from me.”
Zhou Cuishi looked at the hand Wen Yu had wrenched free, his brow furrowing slightly. “…Do you hate me that much?”
“Either we live apart, or we get divorced.”
