Coercive possessiveness | Going mad for love | The powerful one gives in
A seemingly sweet but secretly calculating, obsessive heir with an older-brother vibe × a resilient, gentle sweetheart
At a dinner her parents took her to when she started college, Xie Qingyao received two earth-shattering pieces of news.
Her parents were planning a trip around the world, and had asked Lu Jing, whom she had only played with briefly as a child, to look after her.
What she never expected was that Lu Jing, who was barely older than her, would agree.
He actually agreed!!!
And he really did look after her like a little sister.
Even when she didn't ask him for help, he noticed whenever she was having trouble. He brought medicine when she was sick, found her a new place when she felt uncomfortable, and turned down blind dates she didn't want to attend...
He was practically better than a real big brother.
Everything seemed to be going well.
Until one day, in the middle of a rainstorm, he hurriedly knocked on her door, though he was supposed to be overseas. Soaked and utterly disheveled, he couldn't spare a thought for his appearance. His eyes were rimmed with broken-looking red and dark circles from traveling all night. He had come just to say, with absolute certainty, "You're in love."
And then, to Xie Qingyao's horror, he added:
"I love you."
Xie Qingyao hadn't yet decided whether she should stay with her first boyfriend when he went overseas to study at his family's urging. When work wore her down, Lu Jing was the one by her side. Lu Jing was also the one who helped her solve one problem after another.
Before she knew it, through his actions, he had spun a thick cocoon around her, layer by layer, until she had grown used to relying on him and her social circle had dwindled to almost nothing.
The truth couldn't stay hidden forever. Xie Qingyao eventually found out what had happened.
He had schemed to drive away her first boyfriend and pushed her friends into career troubles so they wouldn't have time for her. He was using his own methods to forcefully interfere in her life.
Once Xie Qingyao began to see his obsessive nature, she couldn't accept it and broke up with him.
But she never expected him to take her to a mountain villa overseas, trapping her deep in the mire with no way out.
When she learned that all his love for her came from their childhood friendship, she was in agony, her eyes blurred with tears and hatred. She said viciously, "I should never have met you!"
As she wept in pain, the handsome man before her turned his face away, concealing the tears sliding from the corners of his eyes.
Even so, he refused to release her. His lashes and fists trembled as he handed her a sharp dagger. In a low voice, he said, "You can only make me let go by killing me. Otherwise, I'll never give up."
In the end, she seized her chance and escaped overseas, far away from him.
But there was no escaping him after all. The day Lu Jing found her, a blizzard was raging in Iceland. Everything had come full circle.
"I found you. I won't let you leave again." He spoke forcefully, his hand gripping her arm trembling. He was like a child who knew he couldn't make her stay but was pretending to be calm, refusing to let go. His eyes were red, droplets clung to his lashes, and he didn't even blink, afraid she'd disappear the next second.
Little bonus scene:
One afternoon after they got back together, Xie Qingyao was reading alone in the study when she happened upon a medical file in a drawer. Curious, she took it out to look through it.
The date on the first page was from the first month after she had left Lu Jing. He had been seeing a therapist.
The writing inside was too dense and difficult to make out. Xie Qingyao skimmed it and saw that the tightly packed notes continued to the final page, showing how long he had kept visiting the therapist's office.
At dusk, Lu Jing came home, greeted her, and went into the kitchen as usual to wash his hands and make dinner.
Xie Qingyao followed him in, holding the file, and looked at him without a word.
"Didn't you say that no matter what, I could only learn to love you, and could only love you?"
Lu Jing smiled faintly and fed her a spoonful of soup. "I also want to learn to love you in the way you like. I want to make you happy."
"And thank you for being willing to love me."

"Contract Marriage"
*Marriage first, love later *Male lead has been plotting this for a long time *A touch of training kink
On an utterly ordinary day, a refined, distinguished man walked into the veterinary clinic where Xia Shuqing worked.
He got straight to the point, telling her that he had sponsored her during college. He had shown up out of the blue because he needed a wife to deal with his family, and she had happened to come to mind.
Xia Shuqing had intended to refuse. She could repay him for sponsoring her, but not like this.
Unfortunately, his offer was too good to turn down.
All she had to do was play his wife for a year. She would receive 20,000 yuan each month, and when the year was up, he would pay her five million yuan in one lump sum. She wouldn't even have to fulfill any marital duties.
Xia Shuqing didn't consider herself materialistic, but when she thought about how she could retire completely after signing the contract and waiting a year
How was that any different from money falling from the sky?
So the very next second, Xia Shuqing's expression changed completely. Grinning so broadly her cheeks nearly split, she asked, "Boss, when do we sign the contract?"
She had assumed there would be some price to pay for landing this job.
Maybe a difficult boss, a mother-in-law who wanted her to leave her son, people who would say she was a nobody who'd married into wealth, or the tangled social circles of the rich.
But none of that happened.
After living together for half a year, Xia Shuqing still had no idea who had forced Pei Jiashu to take a wife.
From what she could tell, she couldn't imagine anyone making this ill-tempered young master marry against his will.
What's more, everyone around her treated her with respect.
The only real headache was Pei Jiashu himself. He had all the usual young-master quirks: he was allergic to cat hair, moody, and had inexplicably imposed a ten o'clock curfew on her.
One night at eleven, Xia Shuqing tiptoed back to the villa after a team outing, afraid to wake anyone. The lights were already off, and the servants had gone to bed.
To her surprise, halfway there, the crystal chandelier overhead suddenly switched on, flooding the hall with a blinding light. Xia Shuqing closed her eyes and waited a moment for them to adjust. When she opened them, Pei Jiashu was sitting on the sofa, looking at her with a cold expression.
"Ten o'clock curfew. Forgot?"
Xia Shuqing apologized out of habit, without a hint of guilt.
"It seems rules can't be followed without a system of punishments."
Pei Jiashu pondered for two seconds, then suddenly seemed to realize something. He proposed something he had clearly been planning for a while. "Then let's decide on a punishment now."
"What... punishment?" Xia Shuqing was still confused when Pei Jiashu had already walked up to her.
"Now..." Pei Jiashu lowered his head slightly. Just before their lips touched, he murmured, "Kiss me."
Theme: Love can break through every restraint
Found a good article! The author gives a big thumbs up!!!
In addition to childhood sweethearts, if lines, can there be other extras?
"It's eight o'clock in the evening, and it's still dark..." It should be eight o'clock in the morning, which is a big bug for the author~
