Synopsis
"Once I realized I was only a weapon, so many questions suddenly answered themselves."
Enkidu, the "Chains of Heaven," is neutral and moderate in disposition, "the strongest weapon we could conceive of," created by the gods. The goddess of the Underworld once described Enkidu as "moving like a battle-ax." Even their dear friend, Gilgamesh, the "King of Heroes," considers them "more radical than himself." Possessing a beauty that transcends gender and common sense, Enkidu is skilled at calmly going insane.
They see themself as a weapon, equally capable of being yin or yang, and devastatingly effective. Their mental state is a hundred years ahead of humanity: a highly intelligent criminal thinker from the oldest age of the gods, and the ultimate embodiment of the saying, "You can't judge a person by appearances."
| "Reserved, proactive, and forceful.
| Usually standing tall and graceful as a flower, but once they spring into action,
| they become a terrifyingly active monster who waits for no one, shows no mercy, and holds nothing back."*

A transfer student joins Tim Drake's class. Long hair cascading down their back and green eyes that seem to shimmer, they are so beautiful that it's impossible to tell whether they're male or female, and their beauty is almost infuriating. The moment they arrive at school, they become the campus's newest sensation and hottest topic. Their beauty is discussed everywhere, and every day during breaks, students crowd the classroom until it's impossible to get in, all hoping to catch a glimpse of them.
Their extraordinary skills and perception don't escape the notice of the world's second-best detective. So, on the night Enkidu enrolls, they are welcomed with the Batfamily's deluxe, all-around surveillance package. At school, they're seated beside Red Robin; outside school, even taking a casual part-time job leads to chance encounters with various Birds. They casually rescue a woman from a mugging and beat up the robbers, then turn around to find Officer Grayson, who comes to Gotham on business every day, praising their kindness.
Tim is always trying to find an opportunity to pump me for information, and Mr. Wayne is racking his brains for ways to get close to me. Add to that my daily "chance encounters" with Officer Grayson, as if he's trying to meet a quota, and the Gotham tabloids are having a field day, spreading rumors about me everywhere...
Enkidu waves a hand. "Sorry, I don't understand. I'm just a weapon."
Those in the know would praise the Bats for doing their utmost to eliminate a threat. Those who aren't might think the entire Wayne family has fallen for the same "woman." :(
Enkidu admires the Bats' noble spirit, and is happy to play along, sparring with them and trading verbal feints... Of course, a weapon doesn't waste much energy on casual entertainment. And since Enkidu is skilled at investigating Bat-themed vigilantes, their halfhearted disguise is naturally full of holes.
As they grow closer, the traits Enkidu reveals gradually exceed the Batfamily's expectations, moving well beyond the initial "barely acceptable." One of them is the brutal fighting ability that's hard to imagine beneath Enkidu's gentle manner and peerless beauty.
And what's more: "This might only be the tip of the iceberg."
Then, an unexpected turn of events arrives. After a night of patrol, Bruce discovers a strangely shaped, dark-red mark on the back of his hand. At that very moment, Enkidu suddenly appears behind him, out of nowhere.
"I ask you: are you my Master?"
Batman becomes the Master of the "Chains of Heaven."
There is no point in hiding anything anymore. Enkidu reveals their origins and the coming crisis, then joins the Batfamily in searching for the source of the threat: the hidden location of the Holy Grail.
"I'm just a weapon. I'll follow your orders, Master, so please, command me as you wish."
"At this moment, my only purpose, besides eliminating threats to humanity, is to protect you and become your sword, Master."
"Would you like me to chop down this whole nest of vipers, Master?"
"Sorry, Master. I didn't think it through. Shall I go kill those troublesome higher-ups?"
"Protect my children, Enkidu."
"Understood. I will treat this order as the highest priority beneath 'protect the Master.'"
And so, the Joker is nearly beaten to death by Enkidu in a moment of instinct. A Huntress infected by the "Evil God's Curse" is restrained by the "Chains of Heaven," which are especially effective against divine beings. The sky and earth tremble as Superman and Enkidu fight, and a massive crater is blasted into the desert by the "Son of Man Cannon."
At school, Enkidu and Tim's relationship instantly flips, with Enkidu staying glued to Tim's side. To onlookers, this is a sudden revelation for students who have been shipping the "princess and knight" couple: So Enkidu is the "knight," and Drake is the "princess"!? Meanwhile, those who see Enkidu as the goddess of their dreams are already grinding their teeth, consumed by jealousy...
Enkidu thinks that "acting more human" to avoid alerting the Evil God is also a great way to satisfy their curiosity and desire for entertainment.
In the end, with the support of "Human Order," Enkidu unleashes their full power and faces off against the Evil God's remaining incarnation on Earth. From the ground to the sky, from Earth to outer space, the battle rages for three whole days and nights. Even at the dead of night, the sky stays as bright as day beneath the barrage of Noble Phantasms.
"The shockwaves vaporized twelve percent of the Arctic Ocean's water."
It is a battle that shatters humanity's common understanding of the world. From then on, the superheroes who protect the people rise to even greater prominence.
When people criticize Enkidu's fighting style for being all brute force and no strategy...
"Ah, in human terms, I suppose you could call it 'when all you have is strength, everything looks like a nail!'"

In the future seen through Clairvoyance, the Holy Grail will appear in Gotham three months from now for an unknown reason. But this time, the Grail will be tainted by the "Evil God's Curse." It will corrupt Gotham, bringing this city of sin several times more disaster than ever before. Starting in Gotham, the corruption will quickly spread across the entire United States. The earth will split apart, fierce winds will howl, and the infected will have their basest human impulses magnified without limit. In an instant, panic will grip the United States, and everyone will fear for their lives.
The "Chains of Heaven," answering the call of the Counter Force because humanity is under threat, decides to kill all the infected and stop the corruption from spreading as efficiently as possible. But Gotham's Dark Knight stops them, pleading with them to act in a way that leans toward "saving everyone who can be saved."
The weapon follows orders, bringing the world a perfect ending.
But their new friends, the Bats, tell them to learn to listen to their own heart.
[A weapon wants to have a human heart too...]
-
A story about Enkidu, an absolutely otherworldly, naturally dark beauty, a highly intelligent thinker from the Age of the Gods who seems reasonable on the surface but does whatever they want, entrusted by the Counter Force to transmigrate across the world's boundaries and descend upon Gotham City.
[The "Chains of Heaven" goes on a rampage ()]
The protagonist is Enkidu, the "Chains of Heaven" from FGO/FSF. They possess peerless beauty and have no gender, with the ability to choose one, so most characters in the story mistake them for a woman. In the story, Enkidu's public identity is female, but in truth they remain genderless and can be male or female.
-
I've tried to make the story understandable even for readers who aren't familiar with FGO/FSF/the Fate series.
*Description of Enkidu from the FGO profile
Premise: A divine weapon, the "Chains of Heaven," travels around Gotham. Can a weapon have a human heart too?
