Here's the situation, more or less. I'm a novelist, and there's another author I've admired for years. But I'm introverted and almost never attend in-person events, so I've never met him.
Today, a friend who once did me a huge favor asked me to attend a variety show for web novel authors. And then I ran into him backstage! Aaaaaah!
What do you think I should do? Would it be rude to go up to him and ask him to sign my phone case and my arm? But I left in such a hurry that I don't have any of his books with me.

As the title says, I haven't been out in ages. I had to go out for work today, and I ran into someone I've disliked for years. We work in the same field, more or less.
Because of work, I can't avoid interacting with him. But we're still in the preparation period, and he keeps staring at me. Not continuously, though. He looks at his phone, then at me, then at his phone again, then at me again...
Is he planning to do something bad to me? The back of my neck is starting to feel cold.
Does anyone know what I should do in this situation?
