A Friend’s Wife Is Off-Limits

The next time Lu Boqing saw Xue Man was at the funeral for his childhood friend's baby, who had died at just two months old.

Standing beside his friend was a frail, desolate figure. She held the baby's blanket, her eyes vacant and her expression numb.

It was Xue Man, the dead child's mother and his childhood friend's wife.
