Aniki Linkolov, former crown prince of Bluebridge, now king.
The greatest legacy Abramovich left Chelsea.
England once arrogantly believed that no player could refuse it.
After all, it was the birthplace of modern football, home to the Premier League, the most prestigious and influential football league in the world.
It was also a perennial favorite to win the World Cup. Nobody could refuse England.
England was always the one turning others down.
Just look at the key player from a Champions League defending champion who couldn't even make England's national team squad. Just look at the so-called prodigies who begged to become naturalized, only to be turned away over questions of ancestry. Just look at a superstar like Beckham, forced to humble himself and plead before he could barely secure the role of team manager.
So even if you were captain all the way from U8 to U21 in the academy of a Premier League giant, even if you were called the best midfielder in the world among your generation, even if you had a handsome face and enormous commercial value, even if you defeated all comers and led your team to a Champions League title as the youngest captain in history, when you applied to join the England national team, you still had to wait.
They thought smugly, We're England. We're not just any team. You have to court us, and you have to put up with us. What choice do you have besides Ukraine? And you don't even have any great English blood in you.
Then one day, England decided it had tested him enough and prepared to call him with instructions to report to the national team training base. Instead, it learned that the day before, after turning his house upside down searching through every box, he'd gone straight to the Italian national team and reclaimed his heritage by taking the name Maldini.
He said, "Goodbye forever, you bunch of idiots."
England's national team: ?
Please note:
1. The author can't write match scenes, so there aren't many. You don't need to be a football expert to read this.
2. Club: Chelsea
National team: Italy
3. The story runs from before the Qatar World Cup to after the Canada, Mexico, and United States World Cup.
4. Pure wish fulfillment. Damn it, I'm not giving up on Italy. Aniki will drag you lot to the World Cup even if he has to carry the whole team on his back.
5. Not sure yet whether it will be pure romance or no CP, so pure romance is the current plan.
Theme: Don't give up easily
