Set around 2007, this is a story about two kind-hearted souls, and a heroine saving a beauty.

A cool, aloof heroine who seems warm on the outside but is dark and brooding within ✖️ a gentle, beautiful, frail, tragic hero.

Here is the synopsis:

Duan Xiaotun is the most cherished child in his family, but he quits school after starting high school.

His family is simply too poor!

Determined to change his life with his own two hands, he goes to work at a factory, only to be threatened into bed by his ex-boyfriend.

So this is what sleeping with a man feels like. He thinks it would be nice to have someone to support each other, regardless of gender.

But rumors gradually spread around the factory that someone saw him kissing a man in the middle of the night. Duan Xiaotun can no longer stay there.

Trusting in love, he goes away with his ex-boyfriend to find work. Why does a man show a completely different side once he leaves home?

He works at a restaurant and meets a woman whom the locals seem to respect and adore.

After breaking up with his ex-boyfriend, Duan Xiaotun is drugged. He would rather die than submit, so he jumps into a lake, and someone pulls him out. Xiang Yang has helped him once again.

They sleep together, and Duan Xiaotun's heart begins to waver. Xiang Yang is the best person in the world.

But how could someone as filthy and pitiful as him ever deserve Xiang Yang?

Content warnings:

1. The male lead is gay and is turned straight by the female lead. The female lead is turned from straight to lesbian by a top. Cool woman, passionate man; older woman-younger man romance; happy ending; the female lead gets the big moments; romance and plot each make up half the story.

2. A melodramatic story. The male lead is miserable, though this isn't a story about rescuing a fallen woman. The pacing isn't particularly fast. They save each other.

3. Neither lead is a virgin. There will be plenty of competition between men. The experienced male lead swallows his pride and takes the initiative, while the female lead doesn't understand all the twists and turns but gets some very satisfying scenes.

4. The female lead is a little tsundere, stubborn and sharp-tongued. Deep down, she's dark and brooding, and loves testing people. She's warm to the outside world but cold within, while she's uniquely cold on the outside and warm within toward the male lead.

5. The first 20 chapters may contain a few references to the male lead's previous relationship, all negative. The author is fine with female-female pairings; whether you ship them is up to you.
