Blurb:
The year you turned twenty-four, you transmigrated into a hit action game.
Good news: You're the protagonist.
Bad news: You've never played it.
At least you got a handsome character model. You turned your head as you looked at the person in the mirror. The strong body and clear vision both felt unfamiliar. Hardest to ignore was the game control panel etched into your field of view. It looked both far away and close up. Weird.
Everything was hard to get used to, especially when you found out you had a job waiting for you, and what you hated most was being forced to talk to strangers alone in an unfamiliar setting.
So on your first day, you quit.
The game System said nothing. That seemed like a good sign: you wouldn't be forced to do anything you didn't want to.
But you still had to think about surviving... After traveling around to get to know the world and spending almost all your money, you took the uncle who ran the police department off your blacklist. He'd called in favors to hire you, only for you to stab him in the back right to his face.
He kept tabs on everything you did and didn't mind you knowing it, so you received a message with the address of a company. Your new job was chauffeur.
On your first day, you got into the car and noticed something was wrong with it. But it hadn't just started having problems that day, so you pretended not to notice. You could handle it anyway. As soon as you drove off, you spotted someone tailing you. The System marked them as a teammate, so you knew they were bodyguards and this was a test. Still, you pretended not to notice. Unless they made a move.
On your second day, your boss sent the bodyguards' car ahead and told you to lead the way. Following the System's directions and what you'd learned while traveling, you cut the travel time by a third. That was an absurd amount. You drove steadily the whole way, and the bodyguards following you got left behind. You proved your worth.
On your third day, you had the day off.
On your fourth day, you had the day off, but your boss's secretary came to have you sign a new contract. Your salary was five times higher, you got your boss's private contact information, and you were now expected to drive him every day.
On your fifth day, you avoided a collision and showed off the physical fitness and professional skills expected of an action-game protagonist amid the chaos. Your boss started getting curious about you.
1. Absolutely centered on the protagonist's perspective, lawful neutral with a player's mindset, mildly popular with everyone
2. Both are virgins, one-on-one pairing: a carefree, mildly world-weary bottom and a steady, reliable, controlling top
3. Don't project this onto reality; the setting is entirely fictional
Theme: Seize the present to look forward to the future
