I’m Already a Replacement, So What’s Wrong With Riding the Wave?

The night my fiance called off our engagement, Lin Yuran died in a stage accident.

When he opened his eyes again, it was five years later. He had become Shen Ruochi, an obscure celebrity adored by gossip accounts.

"Shen Ruochi looks just like the late movie star Lin Yuran" was practically a guaranteed traffic magnet for gossip accounts.

While people online called him "a replacement climbing to the top" and "shamelessly riding on someone else's fame," he scrolled through the comments while eating instant noodles.

Bad publicity is still publicity, and infamy is still fame. In this age of traffic, Lin Yuran was happy to take advantage of it.

Besides, he could ride not only his own wave of attention, but also that of movie star Fu Xiaoyan.

The same fiance who had called off their engagement back then, then spent five years after Lin Yuran's death cultivating the image of a devoted widower.

As for what Fu Xiaoyan thought, Lin Yuran didn't care.

Eventually, even his manager couldn't take it anymore. "Shen Ruochi, you're riding this wave a bit too hard, aren't you?"

Lin Yuran rolled his eyes.

"I'm already playing the replacement. What's wrong with riding the wave?!"

"Besides, he's willing to let me. What does that have to do with me?"

Fu Xiaoyan felt that he had died alongside Lin Yuran five years ago.

Until the day, at a variety show, an obscure celebrity named Shen Ruochi walked onto the stage.

He knew about this nobody. He'd always been labeled as "looking just like Lin Yuran," and Fu Xiaoyan hated it.

He hated people riding on others' fame, especially when they were riding on Lin Yuran's.

But when Shen Ruochi finished his performance, Fu Xiaoyan's iWatch warned him that his heart rate was dangerously high. He nearly snapped the pen in his hand.

This wasn't right...
