Heads-up about potential dealbreakers:
1. The female lead is an Outsider, so she can use qi. She doesn't have much, but whatever she uses is immediately replenished one-for-one, giving her incredible stamina. Don't ask why she can learn Thunder Magic. The Old Celestial Master wanted to teach her, so he did. The author gave her that cheat, after all.
2. You don't need to have read The Outcast to follow the story. The main plot is in OP, but if you're interested, you can check it out. The Outcast is fantastic, just like Fox Spirit Matchmaker and Bai Yao Pu, all of which are among my favorites.
3. The female lead is incredibly slow to recognize her own feelings. She lives by the principle that wise people don't fall in love, but she loves watching other people have sweet romances.
4. I'm thinking of Beckman as the male lead: a playboy paired with an utterly oblivious, wooden female lead. It sounds like a lot of fun, though my lousy writing might mess it up.
5. OOC is inevitable. Suggestions are welcome, but don't be nitpicky. If the author gets too sensitive, updates will stop.
6. The story is mainly written in the second person.
When you were five, you had a happy family. Unfortunately, an accident left you an orphan, but you were lucky enough to be adopted and became the only girl on Mount Longhu, adored by everyone in the Celestial Master Mansion.
With the Old Celestial Master's permission, your senior brothers each taught you a little of this and that, and you quickly learned the Golden Light Mantra. On the very first day you mastered it, your senior brothers dragged you to the Old Celestial Master to show off. After that, you officially became the youngest female disciple under the Old Celestial Master.
When you started high school, the Old Celestial Master taught you Yin Five Thunders along with Senior Brother Lingyu. He said that teaching one person or two made no difference, and girls could always use a few more ways to protect themselves. Everyone in the Celestial Master Mansion agreed.
When you were filling out your college applications in your senior year, the Old Celestial Master asked for the first time what you wanted to do in the future.
Without even looking up, you replied, "I want to be a shojo manga artist and draw sweet romances."
Hearing your answer, the Old Celestial Master accidentally snapped several whiskers, and his smile twisted into something almost menacing.
After graduating from college, you ignored everyone's pleas to stay at the Celestial Master Mansion and left Mount Longhu without hesitation. You took the New Year's money you'd saved over the years and the money you'd earned from college jobs, then headed to a livable, romantic little city in the southwest to live on your own and begin your manga career.
Life in a new city full of strangers was difficult, and your shojo manga career hit one dead end after another. In the end, to make a living, you had to take online commissions, drawing sexy pictures for wealthy young ladies who were kind and beautiful. Gradually, on other people's advice, you shamelessly started drawing risqué erotic comics, earning a huge amount in tips. From then on, you no longer had to worry about making ends meet.
Later, when you told your bestie about it over drinks, she laughed so hard she collapsed against you. She even had the nerve to suggest, "Why don't you just switch genres? Shojo manga really doesn't suit you."
"But drawing sweet romances is my dream! Qiu'er, as my best friend, you're supposed to support me, not laugh at me!" You frowned and pushed away the long-haired pretty boy draped over you. "And don't lean on me. You'll stunt my growth!"
The long-haired pretty boy burst out laughing again. Under your increasingly dangerous gaze, he slowly stopped laughing and wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes. "All right, all right, don't be mad. I came up with a new move recently. I'll teach it to you as an apology."
And so you learned a new self-defense skill.
Then, somehow, you simply went to sleep, and when you opened your eyes, you were somewhere else.
How ridiculous...
Still, even though you'd changed worlds and your body had shrunk, your dream of becoming a shojo manga artist remained unchanged.
A former great pirate, who refused to give his name and had sold himself after losing a bet to raise money, found you after you'd shrunk and complained, "How could someone with no romantic experience possibly draw a sweet romance?"
You scoffed. "I can gather material by doing research!"
And so you set out to find inspiration for your sweet shojo romance manga.
But along the way, you still had to finish and submit the erotic comics you relied on to make a living.
Theme: I simply want to flirt with some hot guys.
