A modern story about the mythical figures Yang Jian and Nezha. The characters and their basic settings are drawn from Investiture of the Gods: Yang Jian, a senior disciple under Yuding, and Nezha, a junior disciple under Taiyi.
After pursuing Yang Jian for so long, Nezha had always thought Yang Jian had agreed to be with him. That was until one day, at a gathering with their fellow disciples, he heard Yang Jian tell someone else that he was still single.
Furious, Nezha strode over in three quick steps and grabbed Yang Jian's hand. "Aren't we a couple?"
Yang Jian stared at him for a long moment. "Huh?"
Seeing his surprised expression, Nezha gave him a hard shove and turned to leave.
Yang Jian searched for him for a month, and finally managed to see him again.
"Nezha, don't be like this."
"Which one of us is being like this?!" He glared at Yang Jian.
"That person who toasted you at dinner today, who was he? What did you two do afterward?" Seeing him like this, Yang Jian suddenly forced a smile. As he leaned closer, his warm breath brushed Nezha's face.
"He's my boyfriend."
Yang Jian raised one eyebrow, clearly delighted, and nodded repeatedly. "Good, good. Junior Brother, you've really made something of yourself."
Then he grabbed Nezha's wrist and gritted his teeth. "Does he know we're a couple?"
