Reborn into the apocalypse, Jiang Li decides that this time he won't hide in a base and struggle to survive.
His parents left him a few plots of land in their hometown before they died. Why not start a ranch and survive on his own?
Before the apocalypse arrives, Jiang Li starts frantically stockpiling supplies, raising animals, and growing crops.
In the third month after the apocalypse begins, he saves someone.
Not because he meant to. He runs into the man while out looking for supplies and thinks he's dead, so he tries to rummage through his belongings for anything useful. Instead, he nearly gets killed himself.
To save his own skin, Jiang Li has no choice but to drag the man back with him.
In the first year of the apocalypse, the pitcher plants he'd planted outside the ranch grow into giant man-eating flowers. Nobody living or dead can get within ten meters without being gobbled up with a loud "crunch, crunch."
In the second year, his sugar gliders learn how to generate electricity, and his rabbits can shatter rocks just by hopping down onto them.
In the third year, blizzards rage outside and zombies wail. Humanity huddles in bases, too scared to venture out, while his little house is warm as spring. A pot of spicy hotpot bubbles on the table, cats and dogs run around his feet, and there's a handsome man he can kiss.
Perfect!
When the apocalypse began, Zhou Xubai was betrayed by his best friend and abandoned in the wilderness. He'd already given up on life.
But the person who rescued him said that he'd clung desperately to him and begged him to save him. Apparently, he hadn't wanted to die at all.
The young man was only a little over twenty, and surviving alone in the apocalypse was hard enough. Now he had Zhou Xubai to look after, too. Zhou Xubai felt bad about it and could only try to help out more. But why was he enjoying this life more and more?
Later, after the ranch's cooking made Zhou Xubai gain several pounds, he couldn't help wondering: Was this really the apocalypse?
Then he glanced around at the whole house full of creatures "dancing like demons."
All right, it probably was. Otherwise, how could even pigs fly?
#Little Scene:
Firewood crackled in the fireplace.
Jiang Li, asleep, heard a noise outside and couldn't help poking his head out from under the covers. His face was rosy from the warmth, his eyes bleary. "What was that noise?"
But the arm draped over his waist pulled him back. The man kissed him, then murmured in a husky voice by his ear, "Probably some fool wandered over again. The flowers, rabbits, cats, and pigs can take care of it. Be good. Don't worry about it. Let's sleep a little longer."

Reader's Guide:
1. An apocalypse farming and stockpiling story. They won't go to a base, not even later on. They'll stay on their ranch and live well, growing crops and raising animals! At its heart, this is a farming story.
2. Both characters have special abilities, but neither is a show-off, especially the shou, who is quite weak at first. He'll gradually get stronger, and the ranch animals will evolve along with him!
Theme: Even in the apocalypse, you have to live well!
