As the Special Airborne Vehicle reached cruising altitude and prepared to level out, an “accident” occurred.
The temperature reading on the back sensor went haywire, but the solid-fuel rocket booster could no longer be stopped.
With a deafening explosion, the craft burst apart at an altitude of thirty thousand feet, and its pilot was reduced to countless fragments along with it.
The members of the Special Investigation Team laid flowers before her gravestone, but everyone knew... there was nothing beneath the ground.
After waking, she told the nightmare to Kirisaki Juichi in a half-joking tone. He was the younger brother who only allowed people to call him “Kirisaki,” had gone missing during a monster attack three years ago, and had only recently been found.
“It was just a dream,” Kirisaki Juichi said.
“That’s the future,” said the blue-black demon.
The long-awaited destruction and void never came. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in another universe, or rather, on another Earth.
No troublesome Tri-Squad. No old friend who kept trying to save him until the very end. No friendship or bonds that made him sick. So who was that young Giant of Light with what looked like a mohawk?
Who was that alien with red highlights at the ends of his hair, always carrying a flowerpot?
And just who was the human woman who called him “little brother”?
