Mysterious Volleyball ABO

Seventeen is the peak age for Summer Fever.

Hundreds of years ago, some humans evolved, gaining a second secondary sex characteristic in addition to their sex. At seventeen, when hormones and pheromones are at their most active, teenage boys and girls face a second selection that will change their fates, accompanied by anxiety and high fevers.

The second secondary sex characteristics: Alpha and Omega.

Alphas embody ability and strength. Society's resources are directed toward them, and they can be found among the best in every field.

Omegas are frail and need protection. Their bodies develop delicate glands and reproductive tracts, becoming softer to facilitate conception, while their mental and physical endurance increases significantly.

In addition to the improvement of their innate physical attributes, Alphas develop pheromones and experience periods of emotional instability, while Omegas enter a receptive period in response to Alpha pheromones.

Only an Omega can soothe an Alpha, and only an Alpha can mark an Omega. These two complementary secondary sex characteristics draw each other in while keeping each other firmly in their grasp.

This grand wave of differentiation is like a sudden thunderstorm breaking in the hot, suffocating summer. No one knows how long the rain clouds will gather before the downpour that douses the heat in one's heart finally falls. Only the agitation of the differentiation period goes on and on, which is why people call the onset of differentiation at seventeen Summer Fever.

Those who do not differentiate throughout the Summer Fever period are ultimately classified as Betas.

This is an era in which the many ordinary people (Betas) coexist with the few chosen ones (Alphas and Omegas).

Ever since Yanagi Sakuya met Kageyama Tobio, he knew the other boy would surely become an Alpha someday.

Even so, he hoped the other boy would take things slowly, just a little slower.

* A story that adds an ABO setting to the world of volleyball. The ABO elements are Japanese-inspired and based on my own interpretation. Don't think too hard about the logic. If you really insist on digging into it, I'll just have to make it up as I go (hey).

* I like beautiful boy protagonists, and before I know it, I might make him act like a bottom.

* The protagonist is a bottom with multiple pairings, and there's a size difference between top and bottom.

* Contains melodrama.

Theme: "I've been chasing your shadow from behind all this time. Even after coming this far, I still don't know if I can catch up."
