It's Nothing but a Marriage of Convenience

Bai Yan felt absolutely nothing for Yuan Yi, the enthusiastic Alpha he had married for the sake of an arranged match.

When Yuan Yi suggested having a wedding and taking wedding photos, he said it was a waste of time.

When Yuan Yi entered his rut and said he didn't want to take suppressants and wanted him to stay by his side, he said it wasn't appropriate. They were only married, after all, and had no feelings for each other.

Before leaving with a heart full of regret, the Alpha left him a letter.

My darling Bai Yan,

Thank you for agreeing to marry me. Even though it was only for six months, I'm grateful you gave me the chance to be your temporary Alpha.

I had no choice but to take a shortcut in this life. In the next, I'll do my best to pursue you. We'll take our time getting to know each other, and when that day comes, you can't say we're only married, okay?

I left you three million. In exchange, I'm buying three days of your time. Will you come to my funeral?

This really is goodbye, my most beautiful wife. I love you.

Signed, Yuan Yi

One day after the funeral, a torrential downpour began as Bai Yan was leaving work.

As a car came hurtling straight toward him, he thought through the pain: Maybe I should go keep the Alpha company. That clingy, wife-loving big puppy must be lonely all by himself.

When he opened his eyes again, he was back on the day the old master of the Yuan family had come to propose the marriage.

When the marriage was brought up, Bai Yan calmly agreed. "All right."

His easy acceptance surprised both Yuan Yi and his grandfather. "Uh... shouldn't you think it over... ?"

He'd already thought it through in his previous life. What was there to think about this time?

A waste of time.

#This is a B-A story! Let me repeat: B-A!

#A bittersweet rebirth story, with some angst

Theme: I may be slow to catch on to anything that isn't work, but I'll learn. Please be patient with me, Mr. Yuan, and don't give up on your wife so quickly, okay?
