Full synopsis:
"Xiao Luan, come home with us."
That was his name, newly given to him when he was selected from among all the androids in the hospital. The moment the young master in the wheelchair took his hand, his pale face smiled at him, and he called him gently.
"How about Song Luan? Then we'll all share the same surname."
"We're family. Family means being there for each other and loving each other."
The older brother traced the character for "love" in his palm, one stroke at a time. I have a family now, he thought. We'll be there for each other.
"Xiao Luan, would you be willing to become my younger brother?" The older man trimmed his nails and asked softly.
"Big Brother, I already am your younger brother." Song Luan didn't understand. Was it because he hadn't studied hard enough lately? But he'd learned all this already. Why was it still so hard to understand?
He studied even harder, trying to make sense of everything around him. Androids and humans were different in many ways, and most of the time, androids were treated as tools. But his two brothers were always so good to him, almost frighteningly so.
He had a family. He was so lucky.
Until one day, his brother in the wheelchair clutched his hand and said, "Your heart was made for me from the start."
The gentle older brother squeezed his throat. "What a stiff, high-end doll. It can't even understand an instruction."
It did feel a little strange, but family was supposed to love one another, wasn't it?
His brother said he could learn, little by little.
