Zephyr Hayes, code name: Gray Kite.
At five, he was already brave enough to sneak around Gotham at night in a cloak, earning a fearsome reputation as a little monster (Ze: I'm a Gray Kite!)
He scared Catwoman's cats and picked Poison Ivy's flowers.
He provoked Black Mask and mocked the Mad Hatter.
He braved Scarecrow's fear toxin and tricked the Joker.
He studied Bane's enhancement formula and kept a Killer Croc as a pet.
He punched his way through Arkham and kicked his way through Blackgate Penitentiary. His record speaks for itself.
What made Zephyr proudest was spying on Batman and playing hide-and-seek with him for a whole year without getting caught.
A whole year!
Zephyr proudly put his hands on his hips: I was so awesome.jpg
(Dick: Wasn't it just because Batman went easy on you?)
Sure, his nest got destroyed, his home got stolen, and his little buddy betrayed him... sob (Ze: holding back the tears)
Still, congratulations to Gray Kite on joining the Bat Family!
A hundred pounds of body weight, ninety-nine pounds of rebelliousness. That describes the Bat Family's kids perfectly.
First Dick left for Bludhaven, then Jason charged off to Ethiopia.
By comparison, Zephyr simply went undercover in the League of Assassins and stole a little Lazarus water. That shouldn't count for much... right?
Zephyr says the trip to the Middle East was worth it. He not only rescued Jason, but also got Lazarus water to study and met an adorable little assassin.
He still thought so right up until the Joker got to him. Then he only regretted not returning to Gotham sooner.
Every cloud has a silver lining: at least Zephyr learned magic.
His senses grew sharper, and he learned healing magic too. He can fight and heal, training as both a mage and a warrior.
He added emoticons that change with his mood to his full-face mask, doubling its cool factor.
He gets stronger every day. Criminals, tremble! Gray Kite is back!
Huh, did I forget something?
Seeing the little assassin now at Batman's side, Zephyr dodged his sudden attack and nervously tapped his fingers together.
Right, he'd stood the little assassin up. Hahaha, don't hit me in the face!
I'm terrible at writing blurbs, so please bear with me.
The character designs are mostly from P52, with a few from N52.
Batman made his debut in the 1980s, according to the animated series.
OOC is inevitable. I'll just do my best to stay true to the characters.
I'm sensitive to criticism, so I'll be writing this solo for now.
Writing this for myself. If it's not your thing, please don't flame me.
Theme: A hero's life doesn't need so much suffering.
