The Biggest Stain on My Political Career Is Having a Hitman Boyfriend

1.

Cecilia was born into a wealthy family and graduated from the highest-ranking university in the Republic of Saherta. After graduation, her grandfather recommended her for a position as an intern secretary at the presidential palace. She became a full-time employee three months later, then resigned of her own accord less than a year after that to run for office, beginning her steady climb up the political ladder.

Cecilia had always enjoyed a smooth and easy life, but just as the election approached, the media exposed her biggest scandal:

Cecilia Carter Meris had a boyfriend who was an assassin. Not only that, but the frontrunner in the upcoming election, MP Aibenfu, had been found dead at home two days ago, and Meris was suspected of being behind it.

Another tabloid reported: Meris's boyfriend is appalling to look at and far from ordinary. Does Meris have some kind of fetish?

MP Salpat posted: With Meris's terrible taste, can she really make Ritt a better place?

Cecilia read the reports and, after giving it some thought, began considering how to get this Mr. Assassin to leave the assassin business and marry into the Meris family.

Or perhaps... she should use a little financial muscle.

2.

Illumi first noticed Cecilia at a ball.

In the midst of all the glitz and glamour, only her eyes looked over at him with such clarity and composure.

The second time, the young heiress wore a dress shimmering with gold. As she stepped in with her right foot, the hem gleamed with golden light.

So beautiful, so captivating. He wanted to keep her.

But then he showed her his real face for the first time.

Cecilia: ...From now on, just show up in front of me wearing that nail-covered face.

Illumi glanced at the plaster bust of his nail-covered face beside him. ? All right!

Illumi still had his nail-covered face on. "What do you think of this look?"

Hisoka: "It's very interesting~~~"

Illumi: "What if a woman says she likes this face?"

Hisoka: "...Maybe she has some kind of unusual kink."

After half a second of silence, Illumi understood.

An unusual preference? It didn't matter. It was well within his abilities, anyway.

So just a few days later, Cecilia saw a face covered in nails, with more than twice as many nails as before.

She furrowed her brows slightly, then quietly looked away.

How could anyone come up with such an ugly look?!

What a waste of a handsome face.
