Blurb:
Ailike is the young prince of the Silver Star Empire. With a face that could ensnare the soul and a domineering personality, plus a fierce talent for piloting mecha, he has always ruled both school and palace.
Until the day he turns sixteen.
He presents as an omega.
In the blink of an eye, everything he had is gone. His privileges vanish, and the people he once defeated dare to trample him underfoot.
At least Ailike is still an excellent mecha pilot.
But someone takes the first step. After being thoroughly beaten in a qualifying match, an enraged opponent resorts to dirty tricks and sends the young prince to the medical center. He spends a week trembling with fear, but no punishment ever comes.
From then on, everyone knows:
The king has abandoned his youngest son.
Ailike spends the rest of his school years in hell.
As an adult, he plans to join the military and make a name for himself in the war against the Federation, but every application is rejected.
His father says, "Your duty from now on is to give the family an heir. I will arrange for you to marry Jim as soon as possible."
Jim's full name is Jim Ke. He's Ailike's older brother.
His biological brother.
So Ailike chooses to run away.
Fortunately, his brother loves him and helps him board a pirate starship to escape the marriage.
There, he meets wonderful teachers and companions, a group of equally talented mecha pilot friends, and someone he loves.
But six months later, his father leads a force to wipe them out.
No one aboard the starship survives.
Ailike is captured and brought back. Dressed up, he walks down the aisle mechanically.
Then,
he runs away again.
He keeps running, getting caught, running again, and being chased again.
During his final escape, Ailike is caught in an accident and explosion. When he wakes, he discovers that the chief medical officer has taken him to her secret residence.
She hands Ailike two reports:
Jim Ke is the king's biological heir, while Ailike was created by the old king, combining his genes with those of the finest omega.
In other words, he is a product of technology.
"Ha! That's absurd!"
No wonder his father once valued him so highly, then stopped mentioning him altogether after he presented as an omega... The king had thought he could create a better version of himself through cloning and gene fusion, conquer the Federation, and make his name immortal. He never imagined that all those outstanding genes would produce a lowly omega.
How ironic.
Ailike looks toward the palace, his cold gaze growing more and more like the old king's.
I will fulfill your ambition for you, Father, he thinks. But when the time comes, I will be the one sitting on the throne.
So what if I'm an omega?
He will unite all the allied nations, abolish the Federation, establish a new Holy Interstellar Empire, and become the ruler of everyone.
Note:
1. Another fanfic set in the same universe as the neighboring story, where things go disastrously from the start.
2. Angsty melodrama, all-pairings direction, and a final coup. Friends and family aren't all completely dead.
3. In the main story, Aoliao will also read this book.
Theme: Finding oneself.
