Psychic Detective Reality Show

[A Criminal Minds fanfic. You can enjoy it even if you haven't seen the show.]

A wildly talented genius medium × a genius agent who's barely alive

#Her heart is full of scars, but her partner is a walking ray of sunshine#Mutual healing#Age gap

As one of the most legendary reality shows for stirring up drama, Psychic & Detectives pairs famous mediums with top detectives in the field to take on requests for help from the families of victims in unsolved cases.

Dr. Reid, an FBI agent suspended for psychological evaluation after experiencing too many major traumas, is already feeling hopeless about life. Now he's facing news even more devastating than being forced to take thirty days off for every hundred days worked.

His new boss, whom he can't stand, has assigned him to appear on the reality show, where he'll have to solve cases alongside a bunch of so-called "mediums."

The team draw lands him a heavyweight partner. Aren't mediums all just fakes and charlatans? And doesn't she seem a little too sunny?

"Hi! I'm Charlie Hastings, but you can call me Charlie. I'm so happy to be paired with you! Oh, by the way, could you follow me on social media? I'm trying to hit five million followers, and every bit of support really matters. Yayyyy!"

An influencer and a medium? The genius doctor thinks maybe he should just quit and teach at a university. This is a nightmare he can't wake up from.

"Sorry, I don't really use my phone. I don't have social media, so I can't help you." The tech-averse man, who has a phobia of trendy people, is telling the truth.

He didn't mean to turn her down, but his unbearably loud partner seems to wilt on the spot.

[The perfect partners, from pride and prejudice to being completely won over]

Is this hell? He wants to go back to work at the BAU.

"I have to admit, you're really impressive..."

"I know we're in a competition, but if I can't be partners with Charlie, I'm dropping out right now!"

[A heartwarming show about healing one another and helping others heal]

"Your daughter is alive. I'll help you find her."

"Sir, I've been doing this since I was in my early twenties. I don't need psychic powers to profile a scumbag like you and figure out what you're thinking."

"Charlie, your abilities, the effect you have on other people... You save other people's souls, and you saved mine, too."

[Let's win this competition, bring back more answers, and save more lives]

[Ten million followers already, and it was practically effortless!]

[This is absolutely the most exciting, spectacular, and iconic season ever!]

[You and I will become legends]

Reid's inner monologue: #Life has nearly driven him to the dark side#Forced to work, considering quitting#What do you do when you draw a partner who's a complete weirdo?#Wait, that solved the case?#She's kind of impressive#So strong, kind, and adorable#That's right, Charlie's an angel#Never mind, I'll love you forever

Charlie's inner monologue: #Holy shit, this is the most depressing guy she's ever met#Is he even human to be this smart, but his life is so tragic#Her partner is so mopey all the time, but actually really hot!#Her partner is the kindest, smartest, bravest, handsomest person in the world#Never mind, Charlie's declaring war on every bad guy in the world for her boyfriend!

[Highlights]: 1. The last installment in a trilogy. It still takes place in the Criminal Minds universe, but the reality show's rules are original.

2. This story focuses on the competition, solving cases, and helping people. The world has extremely low levels of magic. Mediums' abilities never go beyond what's possible in normal society. There are no ghost hunts or magical battles, just little fantasy adventures. Please believe in science in real life. :)

3. Age gap: the female lead is 28 and the male lead is 37. The timeline is after Reid was framed and released from prison. Their vibe is an adorable couple who look very alpha on the outside, but are actually still puppy-love sweethearts on the inside.

As people always say: Any man can be a father, but it takes a hot middle aged guy with a big job to be a Daddy.

4. I'll add more if I think of anything!

Theme: The greater your ability, the greater your ability
