After the Canary Escapes the Mad Beauty

When Luo Shuyin was in high school, her mother died of an illness and entrusted her to Lu Miao, her closest friend.

In the eyes of outsiders, Lu Miao was the dazzling heiress of the Lu family. Wherever she went, she drew countless eyes, including Luo Shuyin’s.

Luo Shuyin remembered her mother’s dying words: be obedient and sensible, and don’t cause Lu Miao any trouble. She took them to heart, even though there were moments when she fell for this moon, hanging so high in the sky.

One night, Lu Miao accidentally drank spiked liquor. Luo Shuyin was waiting in the room when Lu Miao pounced on her and pushed her onto the bed. The two of them did all sorts of reckless things.

Before dawn the next day, afraid they’d be discovered, Luo Shuyin left the hotel in the middle of the night.

Luo Shuyin thought it could all end there. She never imagined that a mysterious person had taken a photo of the two of them embracing as they opened the door that night.

To keep what happened that night secret, she was forced to do as the mysterious person demanded and give her what she wanted. Overwhelmed by guilt, Luo Shuyin gave Lu Miao everything she asked for.

Until she discovered that the mysterious person was Lu Miao herself, and that she had been a canary in Lu Miao’s hands all along.

When Luo Shuyin confronted her, Lu Miao glanced at her indifferently. “I’ve taken care of you for so long. It’s only natural to ask for something in return.”

The day Lu Miao learned that Luo Shuyin liked her, her bleak life suddenly became a little more interesting.

She didn’t think Luo Shuyin would leave. After all, Lu Miao was the person Luo Shuyin needed most in the world.

Later, she heard Luo Shuyin say with her own ears, “President Lu, you’re the last person I need now.”
