The Angler Keeps Unlocking Crime Scenes

A timid-but-bold mantis shrimp bottom x a straight-laced, sharp-tongued top

Chen Wuxuan, an avid angler who retired at a young age, had fished every body of water in Jiangcheng, from great rivers and lakes to filthy ditches. He always came home with a full catch and had never once been skunked!

Then one night, while fishing, he reeled in... the bloated corpse of a man with a horrifying face.

After that, the dead man haunted him, wailing, "Your Honor, please give me justice!"

Things started getting weird!

-

Chen Wuxuan was delighted to discover he could see ghosts. How exciting!

But damn it, he could only see the ghosts of the "victims" he'd fished up, and they clung to him, demanding justice and insisting that he bring their killers to justice.

If he slacked off for even a couple of days, these wicked ghosts would dive underwater and scare away every fish, making sure he got skunked every single time.

Where was an angler supposed to put his pride?

So what if he had to solve crimes? So what if he had to catch killers?

The Judge Bao of the underworld feared no one!

Who knew that in the middle of solving cases, he'd run into a police officer from the world of the living?

Short scene:

A body-dumping case was discovered at a reservoir in Jiangcheng. When the police, including Zheng Shoumo, arrived at the scene, they saw the person who had reported it, Chen, nervously recounting what happened while trembling as he cast his fishing rod.

Zheng Shoumo: "...What are you doing?"

Chen Wuxuan: "...I heard using a dead person as chum attracts fish."

Zheng Shoumo: "...All right. We'll burn some incense in a bit and ask the deceased if he wants to be your bait."

The floating ghost: "I don't! I said I don't want to!"

Chen Wuxuan: "..."
