Lin Yan, an outcast, was forced to take on a five-year-old disciple named Cang Yu.
And so the pitiful master and his pitiful little disciple began their life together.
Lin Yan's luck was so terrible it defied description. After being forced to leave Spirit Mountain, he had to scrape by with Cang Yu in tow.
To save a group of innocent demons, Lin Yan offended his archenemy, Immortal Venerable Xu Yu, and paid for it with his life.
To keep Cang Yu from getting caught up in it, Lin Yan could only pretend to hate him and drive him away.
After being driven away, Cang Yu accidentally learned two things at once: first, Lin Yan had been taken away by his archenemy, Immortal Venerable Xu Yu, and might not survive; second, he was the Demon Venerable's son.
Just as Lin Yan's life hung in the balance,
Cang Yu brought him back to the demon realm.
Cang Yu said solemnly, "Master, I'm not a hypocrite. My heart belongs entirely to you, and I will never betray you."
And so the two of them fell in love, got engaged, married, and had a child, all in quick succession.
By the time the Immortal Venerables of Spirit Mountain realized that all the crimes laid at Lin Yan's feet had actually been committed by Immortal Venerable Xu Yu, Lin Yan's child could already talk.
When they came to the demon realm to bring Lin Yan back, he turned Cang Yu's face toward him in front of them all and kissed him without hesitation.
The Immortal Venerables pointed their swords at Cang Yu. "You must have bewitched Immortal Venerable Lin Yan. Why else would he be so blind to right and wrong?"
Lin Yan stepped in front of Cang Yu, narrowed his eyes, and gritted out, "Bunch of hypocrites!"
Cang Yu couldn't stop grinning. Master is the best!
Note: 1. In the later chapters, every Immortal Venerable will face a reckoning.
2. The romance between the leads is sweet.
