Blurb:
Is there anything scarier than transmigrating?
There is, buddy. There is.
Chen Lin is a dentist. After finally graduating from his professional master's program, passing the three-license exam, and landing a public-sector position at a top-tier hospital, he transmigrates before he can even work a single day.
Standing in the unfamiliar cold wind, Chen Lin sheds a few useless tears.
Five years of hard study in his undergraduate program, three grueling years in his professional master's program, staying up late in his first year to study for and pass the physician's licensing exam, then constantly studying through the pressure of research papers and standardized residency training in his second and third years to secure his public-sector position...
And just like that, it's gone!
Luckily, he lands in a chaotic place where no one checks credentials, so he can still scrape by.
His special ability:
Practicing medicine without a license!
Oh, I forgot to mention: by this place's standards, he's an Ability User, so there's no need to worry about him getting beaten to death by a disgruntled patient.
Chen Lin knows that he can't keep practicing medicine without a license in the Slab District forever. Order will come one day.
And if possible, he'd also like to visit his home in this world. Everyone should return to their roots eventually.
So he takes in a top student from Tokyo University who claims to have connections, and who can get him a local degree in dentistry. That way, he'll be qualified to take the licensing exams again. The guy is smart, his ability is pretty cute, and most of the time he doesn't cause Chen Lin any trouble.
As for the other times...
"Mori Ogai, I've told you, don't bring people who are likely to cause trouble with patients back to the clinic! Tell them to go to a big hospital. Our little place can't handle this kind of mess!"
"I'm sorry, but I can't beat them! I really was threatened!"
"Bullshit! I saw you acting like their best buddy!"
Dazai Osamu, watching the show: "Wow."
Mr. Mori really never gives up trying to recruit a wild Ability User.
Chen Lin whips around to look at Dazai Osamu. "By the way, shouldn't you get that last wisdom tooth pulled?"
Dazai Osamu immediately breaks out in a cold sweat.
Nakahara Chuuya, assisting Chen Lin, wears a delighted grin.
Note:
OOC warning
I'm not quite sure about the word count.
The characters' values don't represent the author's, but their intelligence depends on the author's intelligence, so don't yell at the characters.
I'll add more if anything comes to mind.
