Synopsis
A massacre took away the happy family Wen Ran should have had, all in a single night.
Wen Ran was lucky enough to escape because she had gone out to play with her companions. When ten-year-old Wen Ran returned to the village, she found corpses everywhere and froze. With tears welling in her eyes, she hurried home, but her parents were nowhere to be found. Panic seized her, and she searched everywhere for a long time. At last, she found her parents among a pile of bodies. She could no longer hold back her tears and broke down sobbing.
Wen Ran had always kept an unspeakable secret: she was in love with her master. She knew it was impossible, but she still loved her. Then an accident caused the two of them, who had been master and disciple, to become intimate. After Wen Ran confessed her feelings, Jing Yishang flew into a rage and said, "From this moment on, you will return to your room and stay under confinement. You are not to come out without my permission!"
After an unknown length of time in confinement, Wen Ran thought her master had softened toward her. Jing Yishang sent her a message from afar: "I'm going out for a while. Stay in your room and don't come out. When I get back, I'll bring you the osmanthus cakes you like."
Wen Ran never saw Jing Yishang return. Instead, the demons launched another surprise attack on Tianheng Sect. Wen Ran fought them off, only to be betrayed by her sect. Everyone claimed that Wen Ran had brought the demons there to attack them.
Locked in the dungeon and covered in wounds, Wen Ran had thought her master would come to save her. Instead, her master refused to believe her. Later, they accused Wen Ran of killing the sect leader.
Dragged before the main hall, she saw the master she had longed for. She had thought her master would defend her.
"Master, I really didn't conspire with the demons or kill the sect leader..."
To her shock, her master pointed a sword at her. Wen Ran's heart turned cold. As she lay dying, she murmured, "Master, you lied. You said you would believe me..." After the truth finally came to light, Jing Yishang rushed back and gathered Wen Ran, covered in wounds, into her arms. Wen Ran died there.
Later, after Wen Ran died, she returned through the earth. Pointing at the master she had once loved, her eyes bloodshot, she said, "What, you see I didn't stay dead? Want to kill me again?"
Jing Yishang's eyes were bloodshot, her heart aching as she said, "Ranran, I know I was wrong. Niannian can't be without her mother."

Rong Yi (top) x Song Wuxi (bottom). Happy ending, ABO fiction.
Rong Yi never imagined she would transmigrate into a book.
After finishing another round of overtime, Rong Yi, a directionless office worker, was finally heading home. She had planned to buy herself a little cake as a treat, but she died before she could take a single bite. She had just left the bakery when a car struck her and sent her flying. And then, unexpectedly, she transmigrated into a book as the cannon-fodder protagonist's ex-wife, a character who shared her name.
She'd been slacking off at work and reading a novel, and now she'd landed inside it. This twenty-first-century homebody did little besides work, read novels, and play games. One day, while idly browsing at work, she came across a novel with a character who shared her name. Rong Yi clicked on it and saw that she was the heroine's early-story cannon fodder. She was so angry she wanted to curse!
After transmigrating into the book, she found herself with a wife. A single woman in her twenties who had never been in a relationship, she was now married to Song Wuxi, the book's top Omega. Song Anyi, meanwhile, was the book's Alpha and the fated match for its heroine, an Omega.
Song Anyi was Song Wuxi's adoptive younger sister. As a passing cannon-fodder character, the book never explained her background. After she left the story, the heroine's fated Alpha returned. After the two of them spent time together, they finally got married. Rong Yi only wanted to coast through the book and make a graceful exit once the real protagonist returned.
She never expected to fall in love with the protagonist, Song Wuxi, at first sight. But she knew she was only cannon fodder, so she kept coasting. Little by little, however, she fell under Song Wuxi's tender spell.
The good times did not last. When faced with a choice between the two, Song Wuxi chose Song Anyi. Rong Yi finally understood that a cannon-fodder character like her could never compete with the protagonist chosen by fate. Heartbroken, she died.
But Rong Yi never expected that, after her death, she would not return to her own world. Instead, she was reborn.
After being reborn, Rong Yi decided she would no longer love Song Wuxi and would stay away from them.
When Song Wuxi learned that Rong Yi was going to leave, she immediately went to find her. "A-Rong..."
Before she could finish, Rong Yi cut her off. "Enough. I don't want anything to do with you anymore." With that, she turned to leave.
But for some reason, Rong Yi's mind grew hazy, and she passed out. When she came to, she realized Song Wuxi had imprisoned her.
Under Song Wuxi's relentless pursuit, Rong Yi fell in love with her all over again. She couldn't help it. Could the two of them return to the way they had been before? Just as Rong Yi thought they could finally be happy together, she discovered Song Wuxi embracing that fated match of hers. Unable to bear it any longer, Rong Yi left.
The good times did not last. Rong Yi died in a car accident. But, unexpectedly, she was reborn again. This time, her rebirth was different: she had a System.
The System told her that, for certain reasons, the plot had changed. This was no longer the original book, but a different one. This book was about her daughter turning evil and harming its protagonist. The reason Rong Yi had been sent here was to change that ending.
At the mention of a daughter, Rong Yi froze. Confused, she asked, "What daughter?" The System replied that the child belonged to her and Song Wuxi.
Rong Yi could hardly believe it. When she heard that her daughter would die because of the protagonist's group, she could barely hold herself together. So she returned to her daughter's side and devoted herself to being there for her.
Themes: having a child, cultivation, and a regretful pursuit of one's wife.
