[Sorry, I haven’t figured out the blurb yet, but I really love this idea, so here’s a quick introduction to the premise.]
The protagonist is the kind of spirited, dashing young man you’d find in a prestigious orthodox sect. Ethereal and admired by many as an unattainable ideal, he seems like a carefree, beloved darling of the sect, but in reality, he has always been quietly protecting everyone.
Then, during a demon-slaying mission, his boyfriend chooses to save someone else first. Left alone without support, the protagonist is surrounded and attacked. The only person left by his side is a little slave he once bought for the price of a jug of wine.
To keep him from being reduced to nothing but a wisp of soul, the little slave self-destructs and dies.
And so the protagonist’s soul is saved, and he is reborn five years in the past.
This time, he finds the little slave ahead of time. He initially means to repay him, but discovers that the little slave has been infected with demonic energy. So he decides to become cultivation partners with him, using their bond to help suppress the demonic energy, then divorce him once it has all been eliminated.
When the news gets out, everyone is stunned!!!
Good heavens, that peerlessly handsome, talented, graceful, refined, and beloved immortal lord, as free and ethereal as an idealized dream, has abandoned his beloved ×× (ex-boyfriend) to become cultivation partners with some penniless nobody who can’t do anything?!
He must be joking, right? He’s just doing it to spite ×× (ex-boyfriend).
But when people voice their doubts, the protagonist merely smiles and says, “He’s no penniless nobody. He’s a very brave and kind person.”
What he doesn’t know is that this little slave, whom he sincerely appreciates as brave and kind, is actually the sworn enemy of their sect: ××, the Demon Emperor!
He also doesn’t know that the Demon Emperor has had a secret crush on him for hundreds of years, never imagining he would one day be lucky enough to stay by his side.
Theme: Yun Yi knows nothing of the vast sea, while spring light reaches for the green hills. A fall into the mortal world brings a thousand calamities, yet one still loves the plum blossoms and has not returned.
