The Crown Princess

Song Jia had a dream. In the dream, her beloved fiance had long been in love with her cousin, and the two of them had sworn eternal devotion to each other. Though they came from very different backgrounds, they remained devoted through every hardship and ultimately stayed together forever. Song Jia was the unlucky former wife who was abandoned so her cousin could take her place. When she woke up, Song Jia went straight to her fiance's house, dragged him out of her cousin's bed, gave him a sound beating, and broke off the engagement with a flourish. Her reputation for being fierce spread throughout the capital. Everyone avoided her, eagerly waiting to see her grow into an unmarried old maid. They waited and waited, only to hear news from the palace. The Crown Prince of the day, Chen Shu, had submitted a petition, saying he had fallen in love with Song Jia at first sight and asking to have her named Crown Princess.
