Once upon a time, I was so obsessed with that world of magic, friendship and courage, but as I turned the pages again and again, I was overwhelmed by the weight of fate. Too many partings and too many sacrifices have cast a shadow over the otherwise bright starry sky. Later, I chose not to open those books or click on those images - I would rather let the story stay at the first part forever, at the age when they were not yet stained by scars, at the moment when the Hogwarts Express train just left the platform, the sun was just right, and the future was promising. Until I came across this fanfic. With gentle yet bold strokes, the author opens another door to that familiar universe. They did not shy away from darkness, but chose to use the light of modern technology to shine into the ancient magical world, allowing logic and miracles to intertwine, and rationality and fantasy to coexist. The tragedies that once broke my heart are rewritten and smoothed here bit by bit - not by denying the pain lightly, but by telling readers in a more tenacious way: maybe there is another way, maybe the ending can be less painful. I read slowly, as if cherishing every frame that was recolored. When I closed the last chapter, my eyes were hot but my heart was full. I think this is the most touching meaning of fan creation - it is not a negation of the original work, but a continuation of love, the gentlest "if" for that world. So, I want to say thank you to this author. Thank you for being willing to write this novel, thank you for giving them new possibilities, and thank you for allowing them in that parallel universe to be truly and permanently happy. May every sunrise there no longer have the shadow of parting; may every smile there no longer have to bear a heavy price. And we readers also want to believe that in that world, they are just alive, passionate and free.
