Ning Yujin (Whale)
And everyone else
Blurb and Introduction
[Hello, I'm Ning Yujin, a criminal police officer.]
Isn't the daily life of a criminal police officer just solving case after case after case?
The protagonist has no golden finger. This isn't a power fantasy, and Ning Yujin is the main protagonist.
Generally speaking, team captains focus on coordinating and don't often go out on calls. In this novel, the captain goes to every case because that's how the character and plot are set up.
Please don't nitpick or take things too seriously~ My own worldbuilding is as solid as a mountain.
The characters are different on the job and in private.
There are no brain-teasing cases, the culprits are obvious, and the characters make dumb decisions.
There is a lot of dialogue, so read with caution if that bothers you. The story is pieced together from snippets of daily life.
Not a single member of the main cast smokes.
This novel is very personal! Consider this a major warning!
(There are lots of potential triggers, too many to list. It's easy to hit a nerve, so please read with caution.)
Scheduled completion date: April 2026.
Odds and Ends
Why is this categorized under the Multiverse channel?
1. The overall focus is on solving cases. Romance doesn't even count as a subplot. Ning Yujin's partner appears very, very rarely, so it doesn't fit under romance. The main cast are all heterosexual.
2. The supporting couples in the individual cases are more complicated. (There are both heterosexual and same-sex couples.)
3. It's a complete jumble, and I had no idea where to put it. The Multiverse category saved my life. Still, the main cast are politically correct, law-abiding, and morally upright in the main setting.
I'll come back from the dead later to fix typos or post extras.
When I started writing, the structure and setup only included the first and last cases (the first case and the final case). I added a lot of other things in the middle because I suddenly felt like writing them.
Note: In this novel, shiniang means the same thing as the traditional shifu. Since the people teaching and guiding others in my novel can be either men or women, I use shiniang for women. A shiniang's husband is naturally called shifu, and vice versa. I also use the gender-neutral term "teacher," which can sound a little formal in some situations. If that bothers you, feel free to move on~
More Odds and Ends
While writing, I kept feeling that things were too mechanical. I researched the procedures criminal police follow in real life, and mostly wrote them according to procedure, even cutting out a lot of steps.
The setting is fictional, but the laws and terminology are modern.
One thing worth mentioning: I came up with every case in this novel myself, in a flash of inspiration. My original ideas, my original ideas, my original ideas! Though maybe my flash of inspiration had already occurred to someone else.
I also studied how to write plots for this novel. After writing more than half of it, I couldn't take it anymore. Back to square one.
Most of the cases were adapted from things I've experienced, such as Wang Zhi, Li Henan, Xie Qi, Hua Fanglin, Ji Silu, and others in the various cases.
This story is complete. I have huge respect for the masters who write crime investigation novels. (My brain is still buzzing.)
If you don't think it's good, feel free to criticize it. Strong language is fine too. You can hit me, just don't hit the characters. (You can curse the villains in this story as much as you like, curse them to death.) Love you all.
[Thank you to all my readers.]

Teacher, your story has a sense of déjà vu on a legal channel.
