[Content Warning] Please note! The relationship between these two is unhealthy! Angels, be cautious before diving in! The author isn't especially fond of overly angsty relationships as a CP flavor (though I do enjoy them too, ahem), so for now this is just a little seasoning for a sunny, sweet romance idea. I won't have the energy to carefully work out this story until I've finished the childhood Hagi story next door. Until I find a healthy direction for their relationship, I won't consider making this a long story.
Blurb:
I was confessed to by a junior who was two grades below me in high school.
An impeccable face, a great body, and a cheerful personality. Even being the same gender wasn't an obstacle: I only liked men anyway.
But unfortunately, I had no intention of dating. I never had, and I never would.
My junior, whose surname was Hagiwara, lowered his head, then raised his face and smiled at me. His tone was casual and easygoing. "Then how about I become your bedmate, senpai?"
I had heard about his reputation.
He got along with everyone and was close to everyone. Even in high school, he was famous for being a social butterfly, flitting between all kinds of women, but never giving anyone a clear label.
Just like the rumors said, he was a flirt.
Someone like him would make a terrible partner, but was perfect for a purely physical relationship.
There was no need to develop feelings for him, no need to include him in my plans for the future, and no need to take responsibility for his future. We only had to enjoy the pleasures of the bed, each get what we wanted, and owe each other nothing afterward.
I agreed.
When I went to the police academy as a part-time instructor, I met Hagiwara Kenji's friends. The young cadets seemed very curious about our relationship.
His curly-haired childhood friend, Matsuda Jinpei, was especially curious.
One day, he came up to me, hands in his pockets, smiling as if victory were already his.
"You and Hagi are dating, aren't you?"
...Dating?
My gaze passed over Matsuda Jinpei and landed on Hagiwara Kenji. His expression was strange, but I couldn't read any sign of resistance in it.
So I answered honestly:
"No, Hagiwara-kun and I are just bedmates."
"You're like a little puppy."
That person laughed as he said it.
I was so embarrassed, but my body responded honestly, growing even wetter. So he just took it as me playing hard to get.
By the end, I had lost all sense of reason. In my confusion, I suddenly thought that maybe I was nothing more than an object he used to satisfy himself.
A fine, deep ache of hurt rose from the bottom of my heart.
Be a little gentler with me. Don't do this. I don't want to become like that.
...If I say it out loud, he'll leave me, won't he? If even our bodies can't fit together, does that mean I can't even be his bedmate anymore?
So Hagiwara Kenji turned around and sought a kiss.
Whenever they kissed, he was always serious about it, and his movements grew gentle too.
Hagiwara Kenji was sad. The kisses he wanted were born of irresistible desire, an expression of affection, and an exchange of love, not a way to beg for mercy during sex.
But whenever he sank into that tender embrace, Hagiwara Kenji would get the hazy impression that they were true lovers.
He could feel an illusion of love in such intimate moments, and so he willingly kept sinking into the fantasy that the other person loved him too.
...How pitiful, Hagiwara Kenji.
