The Little Matter of Having a Crush on Kageyama

Aoi Sorako noticed that her deskmate, Kageyama Tobio, seemed like someone who wasn't interested in anything.

But he was always the first to arrive in the classroom in the morning, then head straight to volleyball club practice.

He carefully trimmed his fingernails every day, keeping them smooth and neat.

There was a notebook in his desk drawer that looked well-used, with Volleyball Diary written on the cover.

After club practice ended every afternoon, he stayed behind to practice more, and was always the last to leave, cleaning the gym until it was spotless.

No matter the weather, Kageyama got up early and went for a run.

It was as if he gave volleyball one hundred percent of himself. There probably wasn't room for anyone else in his world.

Aoi Sorako felt a little down. She had never understood so clearly that she and Kageyama Tobio belonged to completely different worlds. Like two parallel lines that crossed briefly, they would go their separate ways after their short intersection during their three years of high school.
