The Beloved of a Man Posing as a Treacherous Official

Jin Le has always done business by the rules of the martial world: take the money, do the job.

Someone hires her to impersonate the unattainable first love of a high-ranking court official. She is said to come from a distinguished family and to be strikingly beautiful. A year ago, an accident left her blind.

Jin Le’s voice is almost identical to the woman’s, and hardly anyone has seen her.

The pay is generous, so Jin Le agrees almost immediately.

Cui Jianxian treats her, his “unattainable first love,” with impeccable courtesy and follows the rules of a gentleman. He won’t even let her touch him, keeping his distance.

Maybe that’s how people from wealthy families behave? But Jin Le always keeps her word. She’s been paid to solve someone’s problem, so she can’t break the rules. She continues to play “his first love” with utmost dedication.

The person who hired her says the woman also has feelings for Cui Jianxian, so Jin Le mustn’t be too cold toward him.

He can’t see where he’s going, so she helps him.

He gets hurt, so she applies medicine.

They’re all little things, no trouble at all.

One day, he actually takes her hand of his own accord.

Not long after, he kisses her. Since he’s blind, he misses her lips at first and kisses somewhere else, lingering there for a long time.

Thinking of the generous fee, Jin Le puts up with it.

Who would have thought he’d want to marry her too? When she took the job, nobody said marriage came with it, or that she’d get a husband thrown in.

Most importantly, she hears from the doctor that his eyesight might recover.

Jin Le decides to cut the knot quickly and runs off with the advance payment from her employer.

But she doesn’t make it out of the city. Cui Jianxian appears with a long sword dripping blood, and throws her employer, barely alive, at her feet.

It turns out his eyes had already healed.

1. The male lead has no unattainable first love. This is a misunderstanding.

2. The protagonist’s name may change.

3. The blurb was written on 2026/1/16, as proven by a screenshot dated that day.
