Wooing the Washed-Up Actress of Victoria Harbour

[Mutually exclusive] A lawyer from mainland China × a wealthy Hong Kong wife

A thin mist hangs over Victoria Harbour all year round, much like the countless marital secrets this city keeps hidden in the dark.

Wen Yanzhi sat in the living room of her Mid-Levels villa, looking exhausted as she stared at stacks of cold, impersonal documents.

"Go find a lawyer, Mrs. Wen."

"I'm going out for a bit first." Wen Yanzhi drove away from the villa.

The first time she went to a bar to drink her sorrows away, Wen Yanzhi accidentally fell into a tender affair. The other woman teased her, saying she looked like a faded actress.

She had been out of the spotlight for years. She never expected anyone to still remember her, so she asked in her unpracticed mainland accent, "Am I your unattainable first love?"

The girl fell silent and kept her busy all night. The next morning, she hurried away. Wen Yanzhi left some cash by the bed and didn't take their one-night fling to heart.

A few days later, Aunt Lan got word about the mainland lawyer she'd asked someone to find.

The woman was of average height, looked rather unwell, and seemed a little familiar.

Wen Yanzhi smiled. "Lawyer Su, it's a pleasure to meet you. I hope we'll work well together."

Su Yan pressed her lips together. "...It's a pleasure to meet you. I hope we'll work well together."

After a year in Hong Kong, Su Yan finally took on her first divorce case at a law firm in Central, in a glass-fronted skyscraper. Her client's name was Wen Yanzhi.

This once wildly popular Hong Kong actress was someone Su Yan had loved for twelve years. A few days ago, they'd spent the night together, and Wen Yanzhi had run off after leaving money behind.

Hah. She wasn't angry at all.
