Like Dissolves Like

A story about two people tired of life who hit it off at once.

Zhou Xun quit and ran before his former boss fell from power. While living under an assumed name, he met Xie Chengjun, who had also grown tired of his peaceful, predictable life. When they met again, a man he barely knew walked right into Zhou Xun's hotel room.

"What if I didn't bring anything? Would you let me stay the night, Mr. Zhou?" Xie Chengjun leaned forward slightly, lowering his body to make himself seem less threatening.

"No." Zhou Xun refused without expression.

"What a shame." Xie Chengjun sat up straight again, looking quite disappointed. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the card he'd carefully put away before leaving. "I really do want to be friends with you, Mr. Zhou."

With completely different pasts but caught in the same predicament, the two are drawn together by what they have in common and set out to seek answers. What they thought would be only a brief companionship gradually becomes an obsession with the parts of each other they lack.

There's something romantic about an unfinished story. No matter what you're hoping for, as long as it hasn't reached the end, it seems anything is possible.
